SAF 2015: RED CARPET CHALLENGE

12-red-carpet-finale

I thought I was done.
I forgot about the Red Carpet Challenge!

I had to edit this to add my arm in my bracelet.
MY right arm was barely long enough to get my left arm and cards in the picture and it is REALLY late!

I am totally done now!
I put my tally in my previous post but here it is again:

I made 11 cards, 1 gift tag, 1 bracelet, 1 felt necklace and 1 altered shirt!

Night, night!

SAF 2015: MAKE IT WORK CHALLENGE

11-make-it-work-challenge

-Create a new card from pieces of reject cards or alter a card from earlier today that you were not happy with.  It's all about making it work!

I was not happy with this card because my stamping was not totally centered.
It was made worse by the black outline and being a VERY tired stamper!

I re-made it leaving out the black outline and giving more attention to my stamping.
I used stamp foam under my images to give better coverage.

It looks better to me. I am much happier with the execution of my stamping. Because, that is what it is all about.
What a fun day but I am exhausted.

I made 11 cards, 1 gift tag, 1 bracelet, 1 felt necklace and 1 altered shirt!
I participated in all of the challenges except for the machine stitching.
If I can get out of bed tomorrow, I might try making one card with my dusty machine!

Good night to everyone who stuck with me, especially my sister Pat *Hi Pat*
She is my biggest cheerleader!

SAF 2015: RUNWAY INSPIRED CHALLENGE

Dawn inspiration

Dawn

What a stunning dress. And Dawns card is STUNNING!

My card is pretty. I am happy with the layout, but it has 9pm stamping!
I am getting a bit weary and fried!

Normally I would re-stamp images that aren't more centered, but...

Pretty colors and again Vintage Linen. You just cannot go wrong.

Ok! The 9pm challenge is up...
One more to go...

SAF 2015: PINS + NEEDLES CHALLENGE ~ Heather Faux stitching

9-pins-+-needles-challenge

Photo Aug 26, 2 32 53 PM

I don't think I am going to manage a real stitched card.
I would literally have to dust my machine off. Literally!

I will barely get this done before the next challenge starts!!!

I have never purchased any stitching kits, so I made it work!

The bubbles from Home Brew!

Don't they kind of look like stitches?
I tried shadow stamping them like Heather showed but not sure you can see it.
Anyway. I made it work!
And a double bonus. Another stick pin!
YeeHaw!!!

SAF 2015: PINS + NEEDLES CHALLENGE ~ Melissa Pin

Melissa 2

Whew! The stairs from my stamp room to the computer are getting steeper!!!

I LOVE Melissa's shabby style. I cannot copy it but I can tie a shabby bow and put a pin in it!

My pin was hidden when I turned my card to the right, so I turned it left.
HaHa! Not so good snapping pictures that direction!

Don't you just LOVE Vintage Linen?

SAF 2015: UNCONVENTIONAL MATERIALS CHALLENGE ~ Tag

8-unconventional-materials-challenge

Ok, I wasn't going to post this tag, but I thought what the heck!
Not my best work. But I get credit for trying to think out side the box, right?

Some kind of chain. TRYING to emulate the veins of leaves...

I know. It is kind of lame...

SAF 2015: UNCONVENTIONAL MATERIALS CHALLENGE

8-unconventional-materials-challenge

My son works at a hardware store. I grew up in a hardware store.
I found it difficult to find flat things to put on a card that could be mailed.
I made 2 projects. This first card, I LOVE...the second tag...ummmm!

The bottom, which is red reflector repair in real life looks hot pink.
The black is anti-skid stair tread strip.
Kind of cool!

The flowers are water colored Vintage Linen. SO pretty!

SAF 2015: MIX + MATCH CHALLENGE ~ Dawn

Challenging, too.
I know my color combo of Berry Sorbet (my favorite), Plum Pudding and Winter Wisteria was not a re-invention of the wheel...but I have NEVER used them before!

I used 3 leaf sets. Enclosed Leaf, Leave it Be and Leaf Prints. I did use Enclosed Leaf for the veining on all three!

I actually kind of like it. I KNOW there are a lot of purple lovers out there, including my sister Pat *Hi Pat*

Mixing Patterns 1

Yikes! This was VERY challenging!

I did my best...

These are OLD papers from a Christmas pad from YEARS ago!

It is busy for me and probably needed more white space for eye resting...

SAF 2015: ACCESSORIES CHALLENGE ~ Maile

Wooden Bangles

I had my fingers crossed my bangles would be curved and not broken this morning.
YAY! They were. Mine is a bit big, but Oh well, I could still use it.

I chose to cover mine with patterned paper.

It was actually pretty easy after watching Maile's  video.
My Mod Podge is old and it stank to high heaven. VERY pungent!
But it seemed to do the trick!

Stamp-a-Faire Necklace

Well, stitching isn't my thing, but I did not let that stop me!!!

Mine aren't stitched but they still convey that feel!

I am in a red mood this weekend. With felt, anyway!

My crosses are actually brads, but they had the black "onyx" look like the button on the Lovely Layers bloom.

I wasn't sure if I could putt his one off...but I did!

Twinedetail1

What a fun technique! Thank you so much Danielle for sharing it!

God blessed me with 3 boys because he knew I couldn't do a girls hair. I am not a great braider, so don't examine my flowers to closely...
I actually had fun trying this prioject. Glue is a girls best friend!!!

I think they turned out amazing!
Such texture and interest!

And I can make more anytime I am brave enough to BRAID!

Thanks again, Danielle!

SAF 2015: THREADS CHALLENGE ~ Laura

SF Card #1 close up

I have been watching Laura and others do this thread nest for years. I never jumped in...
I bought the thread Laura suggested, in silver and I LOVE it.
Laura said she keeps here on a window sill. I am keeping mine on my work space or I won't use it.

It is so subtle and so pretty.
I kind of love it!

I haven't used In the Woods cover plate nearly enough.
I also practiced ink blending. I have a long way to go the compete with Laura...

My cover plate covered a lot of my imperfections!

Thank you Laura for the great tutorial!
