July 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 1

This month we challenge you to gain some inspiration from the "Fruits of Summer" color schemes above, using either a portion or all of the colors in a particular scheme.

Does Tag Sale #4 look like a pitcher to you? It did to me! I was going to cut it with vellum but I wanted the pale pink of the liquid so I used Sweet Blush card stock. All of the "fruits" in the pitcher are the smallest blooms from Ruby Rose. Don't they make the cutest little cluster of goodness???

I used New Leaf pattern Pack and tied a knot of button twine to look like the tree in the background. It MUST be literal!

The sentiment is from Delightful Dahlia Additions.

July 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 2

This month we challenge you to gain some inspiration from the "Fruits of Summer" color schemes above, using either a portion or all of the colors in a particular scheme.

When is doubt, use Ruby Rose! That is my motto! Or you could use Rosie Posie, but I am currently favoring Ruby Rose!

This card has a fair amount of white space. I tried a couple of things for a background, but they were too distracting. So... I left it alone! Whew! Sometimes that is hard.

I added a a bit of button twine on the double leaf to mimic the twig. I like it. I might do that again, if I remember ;)
The sentiment is from Delightful Dahlia Additions.

July 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 3

This month we challenge you to gain some inspiration from the "Fruits of Summer" color schemes above, using either a portion or all of the colors in a particular scheme.

That picture looks good enough to eat! I loved the idea of fruit in a salad but I do not have any fruit stamps, so I used the next best thing...Funky Florals! LOVE that set!

I used both sizes of Limitless Layers Circles for the bowls. The flowers are made with the Notched Flower dies and the small one was hand cut. The "greens" are Winterberry Die cuts with New Leaf card stock. I used Fabulous Frames Die to cut Aqua Mist and stamp the sentiment from Signature Series: Butterfly.

I think this card is kind of funky and I rarely say that about one of my cards! I like it! It is pretty literal. I say that a LOT!

July 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 4

This month we challenge you to gain some inspiration from the "Fruits of Summer" color schemes above, using either a portion or all of the colors in a particular scheme.

I had an idea in my head for this card that did not pan out. I still wanted to use the shape of the watermelon wedges, so I used the Limitless Layers heart dies.

I had tried stacking each color of the challenge but it just looked goofy, so I went with the Raspberry Fizz and Hibiscus Burst hearts and used New Leaf damask pattern pack. The Bumble Bee and Tremendous Tag are Limeade Ice.

I took the 2 heart idea from Dawn McVey during the July release, Here

I LOVE the card and new I wanted to use it for my inspiration. She is AMAZING, isn't she!!!

July 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 5

This month we challenge you to gain some inspiration from the "Fruits of Summer" color schemes above, using either a portion or all of the colors in a particular scheme.

Getting there! #5!!!

Somehow the colors on this card did not correct. The center flower on the top is definitely Orange Zest. I tried to correct it but... Sometimes my camera and Photoshop are at COMPLETE odds!
Oh well, The panel is Chevron Cover Plate ~ Vertical. The flowers are Ruby Rose. The sentiment is from Delightful Dahlia Additions.

July 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 6

This month we challenge you to gain some inspiration from the "Fruits of Summer" color schemes above, using either a portion or all of the colors in a particular scheme.

WooHoo!!! I made it! All 6 color combo's. I had trouble with this one in my literal style. I had 2 different ideas with Chevron Stripes stamps and Round Repeats. Neither worked out so, this is what I came up with.

The stripe in Melon Berry pattern pack was the base. I used 4 Photo Finish strips dies and stamps from Celebrations Stamp Set. the Birthday is from the new Birthday Trio die set. I used the enamel dots closest to the colors I had. It mimics the color strips I was looking for from the inspiration.

Make It Monday #124

Melissa's here this week to inspire you to dress up your envelopes so that they can be  just as pretty as the cards inside
Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a card and matching envelope set.

I once again had trouble following directions. I made 2 versions of the same envelope and was ready to post when I read; a CARD and matching envelope! So, I made a card!

First off, see the CUTE wood block card stand? My AWESOME friend Marilyn Compton, who is in my sister Pat's card group gave it to me! THANKS MARILYN!!! Her AWESOME husband Ben made it and gave one to all of us in the card group! THANK YOU BEN!!!

I used Harvest Berries. I LOVE that set! I didn't want to struggle with Papertrey Ink ink while embossing this image. I LOVE Papertrey ink, and I could have used VersaMark with it, but I was pressed for time so I used some other pigment ink I have. I HATE using other brands for a challenge, but...

I added a Mat Stack 1 die the the front of this Vellum envelope. Like Melissa I added Bees from Honey Bees. I just got this set after they released the dies. I LOVE it. SOOOOO darn cute!

My card has a strip of vellum, not PTI ;( but it matched the ink. The sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies.

The next one is the same just on the only Kraft-ish square flap envelope I had. I need to order PTI Kraft envelopes!

I should do this more often. It adds so much to the card!

Anniversary Cards

One of my sweet clients at Curves asked me to make a 50th Anniversary card.

I was VERY pleased with how it turned out. I used 2 different gold papers and a shimmery pearl for the Mat Stack 6 and the Filigree Border die. You cannot see it in the picture but it is pearlescent and VERY pretty. The sentiment is Think Big Favorites #24. I embossed it with a glittery gold powder. It is rather faint but you can still read it well!
A stacked butterfly, of course, and the 50 is cut with By the Numbers.

I also found out another sweet Curves friend was celebrating her 48th anniversary! WOW!!!
She and her husband are HUGE Jayhawk fans. And I mean HUGE! I think they go back 4 generations or so!
Anyway. I had my things out so I made her a whimsical Crimson and Blue card!

Cute, huh? Well probably not if you are not a Jayhawk fan! Anyway, if I could find my dang Jayhawk stamp the butterfly would have been a Jayhawk!!!
I am sure she will get a kick out of it! I had fun making it!
