Victoria johnson 8a

I have had a SUPER busy week.
My baby is home for his last Spring Break before he graduates in may.
We never got a trip planned. We had a stay-cation and had a great week.

It is The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!
NCAA Tournament time.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!
Elite 8 baby!!!

Just got my card made...

I love Spring Woods so much. To me it was the perfect choice.

I also used a small bird from Songbirds.

I am very short on Thank you cards for my spring sale. I am going to have to work over-time next week!!!
I hope my order shows up so I can make some carrot boxes...

MAKE IT MONDAY #278: WINDOW CHIPBOARD SENTIMENTS

IMG_3771

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a window "chipboard" sentiment.

I thought this was a cool technique.
MY biggest challenge was not having my cutting plate and the post it note I used to hold my die crease my card front.

It's kind of funny. I didn't notice until I was editing my pictures that the stamping looks like a heart.
Did't see it when I made the card.

I do think cutting the window at the top of the card is the way to go.
Also, a less curvy word might work better. The little "tabs" between the e and the o snag a bit, but not too bad. I ordered the Thank You Stephanie used.
I don't have my order yet...:( so I cannot try it.

There is a bit too much white space at the bottom for me...
I might need to adjust that...

Welcome to Make it Monday Stephanie!
Fun challenge!!!

10th Anniversary Challenge: Multiply

 10-year-logo

Create a new project that incorporates multiples of a single shape, stamped or die-cut.

I use the flowers from Pencil Blooms frequently...just not for pencils!

They make the cutest little dimensional flowers...

I love to use ink splattered panels as background paper.
I am not sure who to give the credit to because a lot of the design team had used it for various challenges...including but not just... Lizzie.

When I need one I make several. I have a "splatter" box and I make a pile.
So I had this one already to go.

I stacked 3 of the petals and there you go!
A cute little multiplied die cut flower!

I added a couple of clear sequins and called it a card!

10th Anniversary Challenge: Favorite Florals

10-year-logo

Create a new project that incorporates your all-time favorite floral set.

So I have to say, I did not use my all-time favorite floral.
That is Vintage Linen.
I use it so much I chose to...stretch myself!!!

I was going through pictures last night for my friend Ann who is having my Spring Card sale.
She wanted pictures for her Facebook posting about the sale.
I found a card I had made a LONG time ago with With All My Heart Stamp Set.
Just the flowers cluster.
I realized how much I liked that card and decided I needed to use it.

It is a VERY flat card for me. I usually need a lot more dimension, but I stuck with it.
Just two of the floral clusters and several extra leaf sections from the leaf stamp.

I did pop my white panel up with fun foam.
For those of you who use fun foam for that purpose did you know Michael's carries a roll that is WAY less expensive than by the sheet. It is near where the foam is. I bought it a while back so I cannot remember what I paid but it was a great price using a coupon, of course.

I liked this card well enough I made 8 more for my sale.

MAKE IT MONDAY #277: NAIL POLISH MARBLING

Marbled Birthday Card

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and nail polish marbling.

Have you tried this?
Not so easy....
I used some old polish which I think caused me problems.
I glopped up and when I tried to swirl it all adhered to my skewer.

So the second time I only used newer polish. I still did't try and swirl it too much...
My biggest complaint  about the technique (besides how much the polish smells and gave me a headache...) is how saturated the paper got with the water and how BADLY it warped.
I dried it overnight, but...

It is a cute idea and Lizzies black and green is AWESOME!!!

Mine kinda looks like the Scream mask...

10th Anniversary Challenge: Photo Finish

10-year-logo
Create a new project that incorporates at least one photograph! This can be a card, layout, journal, altered home decor, etc..

I haven't printed off any pictures in a LONG time!
That has always been my problem with digital cameras...
Pictures sit on your hard drive!

I had this ticket in my...pile... on my desk.
Middle son Brandon and I were lucky enough back in November to get to go the a KU game.
There is NO better place to see a college basketball game anywhere than Lawrence, Kansas.
That is NOT arguable!!!
It is true.

So I decided since I did't have a current picture and there was this adorable picture of Malik Newman (who is a transfer and cannot play till next year) laying there, and since it is March Madness, and since I  LOVE KU basketball...

A tag! It could go on a package for any KU fan and they would be delighted.
And if you are not a KU fan, why not! We have Frank Mason...
PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!!

10th Anniversary Challenge: Altered Envelope

10-year-logo

Create a new project that includes a card with coordinating altered envelope. And mail it!

Ok, don't hate me!!!
I did take the easy way out and used Floral Sketches Patterned Paper to make this super quick card/envelope!!!
But come on...its SO PRETTY.

I used my seldom-used Envelope Liner die!
What was I thinking when I bought that?
I don't have time to line my envelopes!!!

I cut a second piece of the paper and adhered it to the back flap.
EASY!!!

It makes a VERY pretty ensemble.
Someone will LOVE it!
Now I need to get it in the mail...
I do have some Thank yous I need to send for friends who helped me get through last week.

10th Anniversary Challenge: Packaging Inspiration ~ Day 2

10-year-logo

Pti_pa_march_01

Create a new packaging project using details from the projects above as your inspiration.

This was a timely challenge.
I recently received an order for 30 tags of various sentiments from a local store.
She wants them gold/silver.

The inspiration was perfect, because what I saw was gold tags!

I gilded mine 'a la Danielle Flanders in last years Stamp-a-Faire!
PERFECT timing!!!

That gilding dries so fast. It is SO pretty.
And I LOVE Tag Sale Quilted.

I am hoping she will love this tag...I do!!!

10th Anniversary Challenge ~ Day 1

Stitched Coaster Round Up

Something New Title

I don't stitch. I wouldn't mind doing it but I spend enough time making cards...Lots and LOTS of cards...Oh, and containers...

So, no stitching for me. But I did think I had a nice alternative...faux stitching...
Leaf & Sprig Frames Die!

I am in need of masculine Birthday cards...Lots of them for my spring card sale, so here is what I
came up with.

I chose Maile's nested frame coaster inspiration. Mine are rectangles but close enough...

I think it makes a masculine birthday card, don't you?

I recently bought a Sizzix Die Brush tool. VERY helpful to get the little bits out of the holes in this die cut.

I made 2 entries today so now I am just 2 behind!

Make It Monday #276: Kraft & Colored Pencils

Mimkraft1

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and colored pencils.

UGH...

This was a difficult week for me.
It was the 2 year anniversary of loosing my precious husband.
My boys and my friends and family lifted me up, but it was a day to get through...

This technique didn't work out well for me.
I think I should have stayed pastel like Melissa, but I am not a pastel kinda gal!

Garden Grace is my go-to when I need to improvise...
it is so versatile...

I should have used pastel colors...
