Still More Teresa Collin's Notations cards

I TOLD you I made lots of these cards ;)

This one uses Boutique Borders: Thanks

Boutique Borders, too

 Ditto!!!

 Honey Bee! So cute!

Boutique Borders are so useful! I LOVE them all!

I went ahead and squeezed in the rest of the cards. You are probably sick of looking at them and I am tired of talking about them ;)

I did have fun making these cards and finding ways to use up bits and pieces of left over paper!

Chiefs Banner

MY boys are HUGE sports fans, the middle and youngest anyway! You know how they say the nut doesn't fall far from the tree???
Well, my middle son, Brandon has a friend who bought a school bus that was reconfigured into a Tailgate Bus. A Chiefs bus, specifically. I need to get the boys to take a picture of it.
Several weeks ago I found a set of PTI Boxy Banners Die's for a good price on eBay. I won the auction and just have not had a chance to use them.
So, I finally decided to make a Chiefs banner as a "bus-warming" gift ;)

I remembered to snap a picture as I was walking out the door to give it to them. The picture is horrible. Is is blurred, but you can see what it looks like:

I used the largest die to cut burlap that I had adhered, with spray adhesive, to card stock. Then I used red felt to cut the layered piece. The plain circle from Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" was used to cut cream felt. I have an old set of Sizzix steel rule alphabet dies. I LOVE the font and the size. I used it to cut more red felt.
Then I took white canvas and dyed it yellow. I also adhered it to card stock and cut it with the "rick rack" edge of the  Banner Borders Die. I set eyelets I colored with a red sharpie and used a heavy string to hang it.
I was looking to keep it totally masculine. We have boys here! No girly stuff ;)

I told you last week Colin, my baby, is pledging Sig Ep at KU. They have an auction in the fall to fund scholarships to encourage good grades. I plan on making one in Crimson and Blue for the auction!

August 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 5

Our Fast Food Color & Sketch Inspiration Challenge!  Just pick a color + sketch combo that appeal to you and create!  There is definitely room to get creative, but all of the big decisions are already made for you!

WooHoo! I made all 6 (really just 5 because I used one of my cards for the recipe re-mix)

This one was right up my alley! I have used a similar card design before. I LOVE those diagonal stripes. I think it adds SO much interest. Adding the twine was a fun twist ;)

The card used all of the colors listed using strips of that color of card stock. The panel and Limitless layers scallop are Fine Linen, my favorite neutral. the sentiment is from Dawn McVey's Tagged Sentiments set. I originally intended this to be a masculine card. I am not sure if this sentiment will work for a guy? What do you think? Anyway, I am happy with another literal interpretation!!!

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Closing Ceremony

I wish I would have been able to share this day with someone but that was not to be! I do know I got more done, all 10 challenges, stamping solo!!!
I even corrected my Limited Ingredient's card, so I really posted 11 times.

Here are all 10 of my cards.

I am pleased with most of them! I learned some new techniques and principle's

August 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 3

Our Fast Food Color & Sketch Inspiration Challenge!  Just pick a color + sketch combo that appeal to you and create!  There is definitely room to get creative, but all of the big decisions are already made for you!

Another Super Simple card! Another literal representation!

Limitless Layers: 2 1/2 was used to cut Hawaiian Shores card stock. I used all of the small flowers from Ruby Rose and used all of the colors listed. I had a small resin cabochon mum for the top of the card.
There is a lot of white space but... the sketch has white space, so...
The sentiment is a Boutique Border: Thank You.

I REALLY like the card and color combo.

August 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 2

Our Fast Food Color & Sketch Inspiration Challenge!  Just pick a color + sketch combo that appeal to you and create!  There is definitely room to get creative, but all of the big decisions are already made for you!

This card could not be easier! That was the point, right? FAST food!
I used a Fine Linen front panel. I used New Leaf card stock to cut the Medium Scallop Border die. Simply Chartreuse, Summer Sunrise and Harvest Gold card stock was cut into 1" strips and adhered to the card front. The sentiment is from Pedal Pushers and is on a harvest Gold banner from sketched shapes.
Easy Peasy! And.... literal ;)

August 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 1

Our Fast Food Color & Sketch Inspiration Challenge!  Just pick a color + sketch combo that appeal to you and create!  There is definitely room to get creative, but all of the big decisions are already made for you!

Yep! Literal! And... super simple. A Limeade Ice panel with a Limitless Layers: 2 1/2 Fine Linen Scallop circle. A circle cut in 1/4 in each of: Limeade Ice, Dark Chocolate, Canyon Clay and Summer Sunrise. The sentiment is from Flower Fusion #3.

Nichole said "all of the big decisions are already made for you!" It sure made the card making faster!

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Limited Ingredients Challenge

The-Challenge
Here is the list of supplies you are able to use for this challenge.  You don't HAVE to use all of these supplies, but you cannot use anything that is not included on this list(except for a neutral ink, like white, gray and black
  • white cardstock
  • white or transparent glitter(Prisma Glitter)
  • 1-3/4" circle punch or die
  • 1" strip of light gray cardstock (Soft Stone)
  • melon cardstock & ink (Melon Berry)
  • aqua cardstock & ink (Aqua Mist)
  • golden yellow cardstock & ink (Harvest Gold)

Do you wake up in the night and think of things? The other day I made a triple recipe of cheesy Hash brown potatoes for a couple of friends who need meals. I realized in the night I had left the cheese out!
I realized last night, late, I had not followed the rules on the limited ingredients challenge. I used dies on my first card. I thought Nichole had, but she had hand cut her flowers!
So...

I used all of the colors, Background Basics: Botanicals, the punch and the sentiment from Pedal Pushers.

Ok, this is legal!

August 2013 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 4

Our Fast Food Color & Sketch Inspiration Challenge!  Just pick a color + sketch combo that appeal to you and create!  There is definitely room to get creative, but all of the big decisions are already made for you!

How pretty and tasty does that cake look? I love cake, especially if it has awesome frosting!
So, I needed to make an awesome card!

I used my Cover Plate: Chevron Vertical. I used each of the colors of card stock listed and cut just a row of each color. I adhered them in the negative spaces of the frame near the bottom and put the white cuts back in the rest of the spaces. My sentiment is Boutique Border: Thank You in Hibiscus Burst ink on a Sketched Shapes banner die cut.

Another easy card and this time the white space does not bother me at all. I guess it is due to the texture!

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Sweet Sugar Coated Embellishments

I chose Dawns Dipped layers technique. I had her Damask Snowflake dies on my work space because I want to make some with shrink plastic. I LOVE, and I mean really LOVE those dies. They might be my favorite PTI die (but don't hold  gun to my head 'cause I have lots of favorites!) But they are most definitely at the top of my list ;)

I am beyond thrilled with how this card turned out. I am exhausted. My back is sore and my brain is fried but I might have saved the best for last (certainly not the salt flower!)

The paper is from the Pure Poppy pattern pack. Another BRILLIANT PTI item! And new for me, Peaceful Pinecones. I did not buy it last year. I already had my holiday things planned out. I am so glad I ordered it this summer. I LOVE it. How pretty does it look all sugar coated!

Thanks to everyone of you who have looked at all 10 of my cards (11 if you count that ugly salt flower number).
I appreciate every comment.

This tired stamper is going to bed!!!

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Limited Ingredients Challenge

Here is the list of supplies you are able to use for this challenge.  You don't HAVE to use all of these supplies, but you cannot use anything that is not included on this list (except for a neutral ink, like white, gray and black)

white cardstock
white or transparent glitter(Prisma Glitter)
1-3/4" circle punch or die
1" strip of light gray cardstock (Soft Stone)
melon cardstock & ink (Melon Berry)
aqua cardstock & ink (Aqua Mist)
golden yellow cardstock & ink (Harvest Gold)

First I stamped Background Basics: Botanicals in Aqua Mist ink. Melon Berry, then Harvest Gold and lastly Aqua Mist centers on Happiness in Bloom. The leaves are my FAVORITE!!! Aqua Mist with Harvest Gold veins. I would have NEVER used those combinations. I think it is striking!

I used Prisma Glitter in the centers of the flowers.

Whew, one more to go. I am fading, fast!

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Sprinkle of Salt ~ card 2

I had time during this hour to make a second card. I do not have Daydreamer (it is on my wish list but it is so hard to get things off that list!) So I just dropped dots of glue in concentric circles to mimic the flower.

I used Hawaiian Shores and Spring Rain ink.
Interesting technique...

My biggest problem was the leafs on the stems. I tried using Cutting Garden. It didn't work out all that well. I kind of mis-stamped the one and the other didn't turn out all that well.
It was worth a shot...

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards

DSC_1649.1

I used Dawns card as my inspiration. Not literal *GASP* I know! I didn't order the kit and so I don't have the stamps. I am on the fence thought I ADORE the pumpkins!

I used Dawn's Candy Cane Christmas set. I made chocolate pudding embossing powder. It smelled great while I was embossing it but I can't really smell it now. I think I will add some cocoa powder to it and see if that "perks-up" the scent!
But, what a cute idea! These girls, what don't they think of?

I really love this simple card.
Pure Poppy ink, card stock and pattern pack. The stamps and dies.
A simple card for a weary card maker :)
