MAKE IT MONDAY #282: STENCILED WATERCOLOR BACKGROUNDS

Watercolor-stencil-still1

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a stenciled watercolor background.

I didn't want to use the same stencil as Betsy...but I should have.
Her's certainly turned out better... beside the fact she is a more amazing card maker...

I also used a Woodblock Prints Stencil. I used the smaller, repetitive one. It looks Damask'y to me...
Wasn't a perfect choice...maybe too symmetrical?

Maybe I should have used just one color? But I was looking for a similar look to Betsy's...

I used 2 smaller dies from  Flower Mandalas 1 die.  LOVE that die so much.
It has been used...NON-STOP!

I think I do better ink blending but knowing you can water color is a great option...

APRIL 2017 BLOG HOP

Blog-hop-logo

April Inspiration

I was going to stamp that inspiration on a panel for my card...epic fail!!
So I pulled out my brand new Fresh Bouquet set.

To me a spray works well for this type of inspiration.
I really LOVE sprays...

I LOVE Dove Gray, Pink and Yellow!
I used an OLD, really old Stampin Up gray cube and Papertrey Buttercup, Sweet Blush and Orange Zest ink.

I think it is pretty card. I would totally (and probably will) use this color combo, again.

I wish Papertrey had a pretty dove gray ink!!! And card stock...

Thank you for looking at my blog!

MAKE IT MONDAY #281: PATTERNS BEHIND DIE-CUT WINDOWS

Gran'sGardenMIM

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a pattern behind a die-cut window.

I LOVE this challenge. A lot of impact without a lot of extra work.
I should, RIGHT NOW, go cut several panels and have them ready so I can make more cards just like this!

Dawns card is so pretty, but I am VERY happy with mine.
I did use Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy...
You cannot really tell...the image is so big the Sweet Blush is completely behind the panel and most of the Berry Sorbet is, too. Mostly Pure poppy shows, but I am fine with that.

I used Woodblock Prints stencil and Beautiful Berries.
Oh my goodness. Not sure how I lived without that set!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

I just wanted to update those of you who left a supportive comment for me a couple of weeks ago about my Spring/Easter sale...It was a HUGE success.
At the sale I sold just under $1200, but overall, I sold $1500 for the Spring. I basically sold out.
Almost all of the Easter things I made sold. Just a few pillow boxes were left.
I still have a few cards left but I sold a LOT.
I am VERY blessed! Very grateful...very burned out!!!

MAKE IT MONDAY #280: STAMPING OUTSIDE OF THE BOX

Outofboxnewsquare

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and stamping outside of a box.

So when I first saw this challenge I was a little unsure about the technique.
After I watched Lexi's video and finished my card, I totally get it.
It really does add interest to a simple card.

I needed a simple card. I am having my card sale tomorrow. I made 380+ cards the last 6 weeks...I only had 6 Get Well cards. So I got busy and made 12...

I actually love this idea. ESPECIALLY for quick and easy cards..

That little block of color adds to the card and gives more texture.
And the embellishment peeking over the top is fun!

This card took no time to make...
That was good...I needed more than one of them!

Lexi always has AWESOME techniques. I LOVE her style!

MAKE IT MONDAY #279: CURVED SENTIMENTS

AshleyCannonNewell_MakeItMonday-CurvedSentiments_PapertreyInk_2

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a curved sentiment.

So I chose a large sentiment...a Think Big Favorites.
I tried a smaller sentiment but my card needed a big one.
The sentiment got totally lost...
So, I curved it, I REALLY did...but is doesn't show up that much...

It is indeed curved and it looks much better with the floral medallion, Flower Mandalas.
Oh boy...I LOVE that die set. Thank you Kay. I make SO many cards...a LOT of cards...
I LOVE big, bold stamps and embellishments...

I made this one purple to put a smile on my sister Pat's *Hi Pat* face!!!
She loves purple. She is...Purple Girl!

I need to curve sentiments more often. It is visually pleasing to have a curved sentiment with a round embellishment.
