Make It Monday #162: Paper Scrap Pie Charts

21

Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a scrap paper pie chart.

I do not have any long triangle dies. I do have Sketched Shapes so I used the triangle from it. It only allowed me 4 slices, but... 'ya use what 'ya got!!!

I have really been struggling with picture taking as of late. I think I need to slow down, always in a hurry!
So again, these aren't the best pictures.

In order for me to really put this technique into use, I would need to get a longer triangle die.
I thought about just using strips of paper, but that didn't seem to fit the rules.

April 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 6

Blog-hop-logo

April-Blog-Hop-Inspiration

Using the colors and design of the embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral stamps or other images.  No stitching required!

My inspiration on this card was, me! I am currently on a butterfly kick and I am completely OBSESSED with Embossing Paste.
I tried to make my own stencil with the layout of the butterflies on this card.
It kinda flopped. The butterflies turned out very un-even and just not that pleasing.
I will try it again but for the blog hop using the die cuts probably mimicked embroidery better, anyway.

As I almost always do, I used the Filigree Border die as "wings" and a sequin for the body.
See the tiny birds? I just got Memory Box Dies, Resting Birds die, HERE . They add just a little to the rustic Wreath and on the sentiment box.

LOTS of "embroidery" on this card.

April 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 5

Using the colors and design of the embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral stamps or other images.  No stitching required!

This card uses inspiration from the last image on the second row.
I do not have a floral Impression plate and PTI does not have that turquoise color. So... I used my Damask Designs plate. Floral enough, right? I used Hawaiian Shores card stock and inked it with Blueberry Sky to get as close to the colors as I could.

I cut out Button Stack II with both Sweet Blush and Raspberry Fizz card stock.
I didn't want to add button twine to ALL of those buttons, so I used sequins and Enamel Accents to the centers. It was MUCH faster and I think the enamel looks like French Knots?

Anyway, it was a fun card. Busy but interesting?!!

April 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 4

Using the colors and design of the embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral stamps or other images.  No stitching required!

This card was inspired by Nichole.
Celebrate Your Birthday Card

I LOVED that card and knew I wanted to make one like it.
This is what I came up with.

Originally I didn't have Turning a New Leaf on the top panel but it just NEEDED something.
I ALWAYS turn to that leaf spray when a card needs something.
I like the tone-on-tone. It almost looks like embossing. Not distracting... just that little touch!
The buttons also camouflage the seam. I HATE seams!

I think these buttons have an embroidery feel, don't you?

April 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 3

Using the colors and design of the embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral stamps or other images.  No stitching required!

This card was inspired by my LOVE of Garden Grace. I LOVE this set!!!
I took the Monthly Moments journal card and cut white paper with it.
I impressed it with my Diamonds Impression plate. I was trying to make it look like fabric.

I added the floral spray stamped in Berry Sorbet. A Berry Sorbet panel and a button I made with the new Button Stack II. Those new buttons are SO CUTE!

April 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 2

Using the colors and design of the embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral stamps or other images.  No stitching required!

This card uses a picture on the third row second over as my inspiration.

I know Dawn designed these images as leaves but I have mainly used them as flowers. I just love them.
They reminded me of... Hollyhocks???

The card was easy peasy. Soft Stone was cut with the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 2 Die. It makes a great filler for a simple card.  I added the "leaves" in Raspberry Fizz and Berry Sorbet.
The sprig of leaves is from Garden Grace.

April 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 1

Using the colors and design of the embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral stamps or other images.  No stitching required!

My inspiration for this card was the first picture on the second row.
I used Bloom Builders #3.
I have always used it the original way Nichole first showed us. Cut it twice, stack it and sew it together with a button.
This time I split it up! I just ordered Daydreamer stamp set. I have long admired it so I went ahead and got it! I REALLY needed another floral ;)

I mixed images from the Bloom Builder die and Daydreamer.
I used Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry on a Fine Linen panel

I really kinda LOVE this card. I have always LOVED Bloom Builder #3 but it does take some time to get all the pieces lined up and adhered together. This was SO EASY!

Make It Monday #161: Watercolor Splats

Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and the watercolor splats technique.

What a fun technique!!!
I have been busy this week making my cards for the Blog Hop (I have mine done and my posts are ready to go!!! ;)) I just tonight took the time to make a card. I will be trying this again!

I think maybe I made too many splats ~ It was kinda fun, so I might have gotten carried away!

I used Stampers Select card stock. It warped a bit. I might try my water color paper next time and see how it turns out. The Stampers select takes the ink so well... maybe not?

I LOVE Nichole's technique, a LOT!!!

Card order ~ More Cards

Additional cards from the group post of my card order

I am pretty sure this next card uses paper from Websters Pages warehouse box.

This card uses the scraps from cutting 2 5x7 and 2 4x5 note cards.
I will post a picture of how I cut my 12x12 to get the most out of it, soon.

Watercolor stamping with Leave it Be!

This is a scrap card and the butterflies when I cut my own cover Plate. Waste not want not ;)

The pink on this one is bright, but not THIS bright!
I LOVE Notched Star Banner die!
And who doesn't LOVE Wet Paint!!!

Easter Card

My sister Pat *Hi Pat!* asked me to post one of the at least 50 Easter cards I sold.
On cards like this, I keep them simple.

REALLY simple. I use a panel, a felt sticker I get at Michael's, a Limitless Layers die cut, and my new (for Me) Rustic Wreath die. That added a lot of interest without bulk or really much effort!

My Happy Easter stamp is an oldie from Stampin Up!

My gals at Curves LOVED this card! They bought everyone I made!

Happy Easter to all! I give GREAT thanks for my Risen Savior!

HE IS RISEN INDEED!!!

Card order ~ cards

Here are close-up of some of the cards in the last post.
These are some of the WORST pictures I have ever take (that is not saying much because most of my pictures aren't that great!)

I LOVE this purple Sympathy card.
I made it in gold as well!

This is watercolor stamping from the MIM.
It made a pretty Sympathy card, too.

A shaker card made with Lizzie's text block! FUN!!!

Baby cards made with old scrapbook embellies!

How STINKIN" cute are these Diaper delivery van cards???

I have some more I will post soon.

Card order

One of my AMAZING card customers emailed me last week for an order of 26 cards!
I have sold THOUSANDS of cards over the years. I have had people buy MANY at a time, maybe more than 26.
But I have never received an order for 26 cards. She gave me a list of what she was looking for.
I have a box of over 50 for her to choose from but I took my favorite 26 and snapped some pictures of them.

This is too many cards for my light box. so the pictures aren't great...

There are Baby, Sympathy, Birthday

Thinking of you, Thank You

Friend

I had fun. I used some of the cards I have been making for MIM.

Some were from the last couple of Blog Hops

A couple were what I like to call Pretty Paper cards.

I am so grateful for customers like her. They keep me motivated to produce as many cards and favors as I can for my water mission.
I tell my customers that they too are rewarded by buying my cards.
Their purchases provide more than a Cup of Cold Water for the least of his followers!
How cool is that!!!

Make It Monday #159 : No-Sew Quilted Cards

45

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and impressing a quilted patterned onto a card element with a cover plate or impression plate.

I cannot bear to throw away any scrap of PTI paper. It has to be small for me to toss it!
This is a PERFECT project for cheapskates like me!!!
I had fun doing it, though as you can see I copied Dawns technique exactly.
BUSY week. I have been finishing up Bunny Bags for Easter. I have made at LEAST 125!

I used Raspberry Fizz Mix Patterned Paper. It is such a pretty, cheerful paper pack.
I used Quatrefoil cover plate. It is my favorite. Wouldn't it be a BEAUTIFUL quilt pattern?

I also cannot get enough of Wet Paint. I have yet to put it away. I haven't even taken Thanks! off the stamping block! That is LOVE!

Thank you Dawn for a fun technique!
