MARCH 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Blog-hop-logo

Blog hop inspiration 3

This is the picture I chose for inspiration.
I do not have any stitching dies or any of the embroidery themed stamps.
My go-to in these situations is Garden Grace.
It has that feel to me.
And...it is one of my faves!

I used Soft Stone for the Background.
Melon Berry, Harvest Gold and Pinefeather ink.
The little Hearts are Heart Prints die cuts.
The Joy word is from the Enclosed Bell die.

As a literal interpretation as I could muster with no stitching elements.

Thank you for looking at my blog!

MAKE IT MONDAY #243: INK BLENDING OVER HEAT EMBOSSING

MIM video2

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and ink blending over heat embossing.

I have done this technique before, just not as background paper. I loved doing it.
I make a LOT of cards for my mission, so it is time consuming for me to make my own background paper.  It is good to be challenged to do it.

I was rummaging through stamps and saw the music score from Songbirds.
I thought it might be fun.
I chose the wedding image.

I was going to use Sweet Blush to ink but I was afraid if I made it color specific, it might not sell.
I used Fine Linen ink.
I also have "lost" the clapper to my Enclosed bell...it's somewhere...

One a brighter note...I have a pair of Jayhawk earrings that might be 20 years old...seriously!
I paid $7.99 for them. They are a PRIZED possession.
They are my good luck charms.
I wear them EVERY DAY from first tip in November till last buzzer in...
HOPEFULLY April!!!
I lost one on Saturday. I was devastated. I knew it was in the house because I didn't leave after I put them on...
I went out and bought a new pair today, but you DO NOT bust out new earrings during the NCAA tournament. Well, I found it!!!

YAY!!!

I am so relieved. It is a heavy burden to carry...those earrings!

Create Along With Us: March 2016

Create a project utilizing inspiration you've seen during release week. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

I LOVED this card Kay made.
I love the color and the diagonal images with the flowers made me smile!

I also love her color combo.
Trying not to be a copy cat...
I used Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and of course...
Berry Sorbet!

Daydreamer is one of my favorites...I do not use it enough...
The Blessed word is from Enclosed: Butterfly!

MAKE IT MONDAY #242: SPONGED STAMPING

DSC_7367.1

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and sponged stamping.

So, how does the design team make it look so easy?
I am not disappointed with my card...
but it looks more like water color than sponged.

It is just a bit faded.

I used Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush.
I wish the colors were a bit more saturated.

Still, all-in-all. I can sell this card.
Dawn made it look easier...

My Mission ~ Update

I wanted to post an update on my sale at the woman's conference.
So many of you asked me to let you know the results.

This is what I started with...

This is what I ended with...

I sold over $950.00
I would have sold more boxed card sets if I had them.
I was so worried people wouldn't like me to choose for them, but they did!
I would have sold more Valentines treat containers of any sort.
I made too many Hot Chocolate folders, but it was warm, so if it had been cold...
I also had too many Chicken Noodle soup folders.
I made them all get Well. If I had made some of them Thinking of you, or something like that, they would have sold. They loved them, they just didn't want Get Well!

God is GOOD! If you are doing his work. He will Bless that work!

Thank you for all of your kind words of support.
It was so crazy after the conference and PTI Anniversary festivities!
