CELEBRATING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: 2016

Amy's card I used as inspiration.

Painted Petals - Amy

I chose Painted petals.
I LOVE Tulip Time...a LOT!
But I hadn't used the sunflower image very much so I decided it was time for this Kansas girls to make a sunflower card!

Do you get stuck in ruts?
I am loving the Rustic Wreath as an anchor for floral blooms right now.
So, out it came, again!

The flowers are so well designed.
I cannot figure out why I haven't used them more!!!

I love this set.

You get a big bang for your work!

So pretty sitting on a piece of  Vintage Linen paper.
I might have ordered more than one package of those papers during the sale...

It is a pretty spray...

Do you already own any of the five sets that were highlighted today? Time to dust them off and make an all new project using it!

I do not own a set of dies I use more than Life is Beautiful
I use the stamps but not nearly as much as the dies.
I make a LOT of cards and 2 butterflies fill a card front.
And it will be... beautiful!

That is exactly what I did.
2 layered butterflies and an Amazing die cut from It's the Thought.

That's it!
In my opinion, that is all it needs!

A little Aqua Mist paper and you are good-to-go!!!

Ruby Rose - Dawn

-Do you already own any of the five sets that were highlighted today? Time to dust them off and make an all new project using it!

Ahhh. Ruby Rose!
SUCH a beautiful set...
But as I was making my card I realized one of the problems I have had over the years with it...less is more!
I can get a bit over-the-top!

Too many of the pretty blooms...

Here is my re-make...I'll post my original after I show you my entry...

I used Rustic Wreath. I had gotten it out when I was making cards for the conference.
It takes up space and adds nice texture.

Ruby Rose has such interesting elements...
I always want to use all of them, I mean ALL of them!

You can see that on this card...

It's kinda busy...

CELEBRATING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: 2010

Don't own any of today's showcased sets? Draw inspiration from any of the projects highlighted in todays' post and adapt a Papertrey set that you already own.

I chose For the Graduate.

For the Graduate Stamp Set

I am having a spring card sale and Graduation cards will be in big demand.
Our school district has 5 High Schools so I will make cards in all 5 school colors.
I am so happy to have my design figured out!
I might even make a few college cards...my baby graduates this year.
It is a blessing and it makes me very sad!

I mixed For the Graduate with Just a Number.
I LOVE that set.
It makes AMAZING cards!

This card is in the color scheme of Blue Valley Northwest.
That is the school closest to me where my boys went to school.

I used Royal Velvet. It is so dark, I might use something different next time.
The black mortar board blends into the purple.

I also might stamp the '17 Dawn included with the Just a Number set...
or I might take ink and the stamps and add that as they sell so they don't go to waste...

Anyway, my card design is done.
That is always half of the battle.

CELEBRATING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: 2012

Don't own any of today's showcased sets? Draw inspiration from any of the projects highlighted in todays' post and adapt a Papertrey set that you already own.

The Sweet Life Stamp Set

I chose The Sweet Life. I haven't used it in forever.
I absolutely LOVE the way they are doing these challenges this year.
Re-visiting older sets is a lot of fun.
Sets that get forgotten about because of the newer, fresher fads.
The oldies still have life in them as well!

This one was super simple...

I had forgotten how pretty The Sweet Life is.

CELEBRATING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: 2011

 Garden Variety - Dawn

Don't own any of today's showcased sets? Draw inspiration from any of the projects highlighted in todays' post and adapt a Papertrey set that you already own.

I used Garden Variety II, 'cause that's what I have.
My sister Pat *Hi Pat!* gave it to me!
I haven't used it in forever.
I was SO happy to get it out and use it.
I think it is so cute!

Berry Sorbet pattern paper pack. I now have a LOT of it...

and a Bumble Bee from Honey Bees...so cute...

It makes s super easy card...

CELEBRATING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: 2007

2007

-Don't own any of today's showcased sets? Draw inspiration from any of the projects highlighted in todays' post and adapt a Papertrey set that you already own.

I was always drawn to Out to Sea. But I live in Kansas...
Not a lot of need for nautical themed cards.

Out To Sea - Dawn

This one of Dawns was SO cute.

When Nichole introduced Guiding Lights, I had to have it.
She worked scriptures into it and it took on a whole new meaning.

I used Dawns card as my inspiration.

I had Good Times still setting on my work space, thinking I might use it for a dangle last week for the MIM...I stamped it with VersaMark...
It gives an interesting texture to the sky...maybe raining?
Anyway, different from the clouds I usually use.

I still really like Out to Sea but Guiding Lights is far more practical for me!

I LOVE this card of Dawns...It needed no updating.
It is PERFECT as is!

Here is my take...

I used Vintage Cream and True Black Card stock.

The Banner is from the Keep it Simple die set and Double Ended Banner dies.

I rarely make my own background paper. I make a LOT of cards and it takes time.
This one turned out really pretty.
I bought the Damask paper pack during the sale.
I could re-create this pretty fast with the pattern pack...I think...

CELEBRATING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: 2008

Don't own any of today's showcased sets? Draw inspiration from any of the projects highlighted in todays' post and adapt a Papertrey set that you already own.

2008 Lizzie old 1

I do not have any of the sets listed from 2008.
But I do have Lizzie's Text Block which I think is a total CUTIE!

I needed to make some baby cards so it was a good time for me to dig it out...
I used some older PTI dotty paper..

The rattle is from Rattled
