February 2014 Blog Hop ~ Project 6

Your challenge this month is to create a spring themed project!

I couldn't resist making one more card for the Blog Hop. I LOVE all of my new supplies, like REALLY LOVE them. I couldn't leave Garden Grace out of the party! SO PRETTY! I did not say cute or adorable!!!

It makes a pretty card. I am not going to lie. It took a fair amount of time to make this card. I wanted to add some layers. If I hadn't it would have been faster, but not as much fun!

OK! I am going to walk away from the computer and call this Blog Hop a SUCCESS!

Thank you for looking at my blog!

February 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Project 5

Your challenge this month is to create a spring themed project!

I saved my favorite for last.

It is OK to LOVE one of your cards, right? 'Cause I LOVE this card. It is based on one Dawn did for the Anniversary. She made hers with the new Tropical Teal. It was GORGEOUS, but not springy.
Berry Sorbet is one of my favorite PTI colors. I also love Hibiscus Burst (who am a fooling? I love all PTI colors!)

So here it is:

Pretty, huh? A Berry Sorbet panel stamped with VersaMark and a vein stamp from Leave it Be.
Ahhhh... All Dawn, right? Her stamps, her inspiration, lovely.

I can tell Leave It Be will be prominent in any floral card I make, I LOVE the leaves I chose. And I have made 2 cards with the veins for a background.

My second bunny. Pretty in Pink!

I used some pink bakers twine on this one. ADORABLE!

February 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Project 3

Your challenge this month is to create a spring themed project!

Phrase Play #1 is so cute. All of my posts for the Blog Hop say cute or adorable a billion times. I should have gotten out a Thesaurus and found some different words, but cute really works!

I took one of the vein stamps from Leave it Be and made my own background. Super fast and... cute!
I always use PTI paper for Blog Hops but I had a lapse and used a scrap for this one, not sure where my head was.
The Button Stack has Hibiscus Burst felt on the top layer! I AM using my stash!

February 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Project 1

Your challenge this month is to create a spring themed project!

Easy Peasy! Right???

Well, yes! IF you have the new, ADORABLE Bunny Bag die!!!

I am planning on making quite a few of these to sell for my mission fund. They are easy but pretty time consuming to make. We shall see how many I can produce. I KNOW they will sell well, but...

I chose to decorate my little egg from the die with the chick from Hippity Hoppity ~ SO CUTE!

Love this die and I love Papertrey Ink!
Thank you, Nichole

February 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Project 4

Your challenge this month is to create a spring themed project!

And just when you think it cannot get any cuter than Phrase Play... Text Block: Birthday!
Oh my! Lizzie really scored with this one. It makes an ADORABLE (see, cute and adorable in the same paragraph!) card. Seriously adorable!!! And... REALLY fast. A quick cut, for me a backing because I mounted mine on patterned paper. I added a Button Stack and DONE!

Fun and OH so springy!

What I did when I was in Charlotte for 2 weeks

My husband works for Bank of America in Charlotte. I have a small craft set-up there. I take stamps and dies with me so I can make cards while I am there. While my husband is at work I have LOTS of time on my hands, so I make a LOT of cards!

On this last trip ~ 336 to be exact!
That doesn't account for the over 100 Tiny Takeout & Pillow Boxes, and all of the embellishments for those I made.

Here they are, sorted and marked with my color coded name stamp.

Let me explain a little. I sell a LOT of cards. I donated $3600 last year to missions at my church. That is a LOT of pieces of paper. I cannot create cards like I make for challenges for PTI and make that many cards.

MOST of the cards I sell are made with patterned paper that I embellish and add a sentiment to.
Don't get me wrong. I make pretty cards. My customers LOVE them. They are just not technique heavy. I also make MULTIPLE versions of the same card. I have a LOT of customers, so that works very well. It is faster to reproduce than to design.

Lately, I am OBSESSED with Enamel Dots. You can take a simple card that obviously needs something and add 3 enamel dots and voila! An amazing card!

I did not take pictures of all of the cards. I would still be working on that! I did take pictures of a representation of most of them. I am not sure if I have finished editing those cards, yet.
I will post them soon.

I got a new standing work space this week. I am frantically re-arranging my craft room. I hope I do not regret this. I know I sit too much but now things will not be as convenient to access... time will tell. I am sure I will adjust to it...
Anyway, I expect my PTI box tomorrow or Saturday, so I want to be ready for it! I cannot wait to make Bunny Bags!!!

Original card from Anniversary Free Download

When I was making a card for the Download challenge, I used the sketch but forgot to use a color combo. So I re-made the card. This is the original card I made.

I actually like it better than the one I submitted. I kind of like the tone-on-tone. I also think I did a better job of arranging the elements. Sometimes I think my first attempt at something is better than a make-over! How about you? Do you agree?

Anyway, I thought it was too pretty to not share!

2014 PTI Anniversary Special Delivery

Create a card and a coordinating envelope using the last ounce of creative energy you've got!  Think of the envelope as an extension of your card and feel free to layer it up, embellish it or whatever else your heart desires!

Nichole said "Create a card and a coordinating envelope using the last ounce of creative energy you've got."
This is all I've Got!
Wow! This has been a fun week and I made a lot of cards I am proud of but WOW! I am spent!
I know the design team goes through this every month!
THANK YOU!!!
It is a LOT of work to come up with multiple cards for several days.
I made a LOT (326) of cards the 2 weeks I was in Charlotte,  but it is different. I use pattern paper and embellish it. I make multiples of the same card. I don't have specific supplies I HAVE to use...

PTI 2014 Anniversary Building Block Challenge ~ Card 3

Each team member has six numbered selections for a specific *Building Block* category.  Roll a die or use a random number generator to select which item number you will need to work with from their list.

Sketch 5
Canyon Clay
Orange Zest
Hibiscus Burst
Soft Stone
Congratulations Card
Heat Embossing
Felt
Button Twine

So the base is soft Stone and I added a button. I was using button twine! I also used that felt I so preciously hoard! Not too much, though! Why do I hoard it? It cuts so BEAUTIFULLY!!!
I LOVE this sketch, too! I would never make a card with this color combo, but I should. It's pretty!

PTI 2014 Anniversary Building Block Challenge ~ Card 2

Card Sketch 1
Dark Chocolate
Orange Zest
Hibiscus Burst
Classic Kraft
Friends Card
Inlaid Diecuts
Brads
Seam Binding

I LOVE Sketch 1. I love Tipped Tops and have not used it enough!
The brads were a bit tough. They needed to be a bit bigger, to fill in a lot of blank space.
I have a few large ones, so I colored them with Sharpies.
Cream seam binding finished off the card.

My card was:

Sketch 4
Hawaiian Shores
Enchanted Evening
Hibiscus Burst
Classic Kraft
Anniversary Card
Heat Embossing
Buttons
Bakers Twine

WOW! A lot to incorporate! I just happen to have some dark blue (KU Blue) bakers twine, and a LOVELY Enchanted Evening button. The Limitless Layers heart is Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores. The heat embossed sentiment is Hibiscus Burst and comes from Beautiful Butterflies. All on a Classic Kraft panel.

2014 PTI Anniversary Free Download ~ Card 4

Create a new project that uses one Color Recipe Card and one Sketch Recipe Card from the options above.

I had to make this one a second time, too!
This color palette works well for me, though. I had used Melon Berry, which I REALLY LOVE!

Another paper from my stash! I used some Webster Pages Sparklers for the flower centers.
I really like this layout as well!

2014 PTI Anniversary Free Download ~ Card 3

Create a new project that uses one Color Recipe Card and one Sketch Recipe Card from the options above.

I have told you before, sometimes I cannot read. I went to make 2 cards today for the Download Challenge. I used the sketch but, ummm forgot to use the color palette! I had my own in mind, apparently!!!
So here is my amended card.

I also have a small problem with hoarding. I know, you don't have the same problem. I have issues, especially with PTI felt! Anyway! I AM going to use some of my old paper pads!
This one is from Beautiful Blooms.
I used Dawns Boutique Borders: Friends
Cute layout. Quick and easy... even if you have to make 2!

2014 PTI Anniversary Stripe Challenge ~ Card 2

Today's challenge is all about the stripes!  We want to see your best project that incorporates stripes in some way!  From bold to subtle, wide and thin, diagonal to horizontal and more!  Be creative and impress us!

This one uses Scarlet Jewel Pattern Pack. I took a stripe piece and cut it on the diagonal, like Dawn did the other day. It is pretty but kind of wasteful!
One Liners: Happy Birthday and a Birthday Trio die are the main attraction. I also used a star from Seeing Stars and the star from Tipped Tops. A piece of chevron cut from the other card I made.
Kind of masculine to me, agree?

2014 PTI Anniversary Stripe Challenge ~ Card 1

Today's challenge is all about the stripes!  We want to see your best project that incorporates stripes in some way!  From bold to subtle, wide and thin, diagonal to horizontal and more!  Be creative and impress us!

Well, I doubt I impress anyone with these cards. Tuesday is my busy day. I have BSF Bible Study in the morning and a friend and I lead a bible study in the evening at an Assisted Living home.
Not a ton of time to re-create the wheel!

Are you sick of Lovely Layers? I think one of the things I have enjoyed is using it to cut pattern paper and not even stamp. You can put together a pretty flower pretty darn quick.
A Tuesday Flower!
I also really like Wonderful Words: Hello! GREAT font.

The color scheme is from the download. Makes it so easy when in a bit of a crunch! Not dithering over the perfect combo!
I also used Chevron Stripes border dies.

2014 PTI Anniversary Word Challenge ~ Card 2

Grab your favorite word die, alphabet dies or alphabet stamps and make a project that has a *word* for the focal point.

I LOVE One Liners. I hope Nichole is not done making them. I also like Birthday Trio dies. Nichole could make more of those, too! I just wish a company made REALLY thin strips of foam adhesive so I don't have to try and cut it all the time!

I used Dawn's color palette on the Monthly download.
Ripe Avocado, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist and New Leaf along with Classic Kraft.
I used Tipped Tops and Lovely Layers that I have yet to put away!

Thank you for looking at my blog!
