Computer Virus!!!

I somehow contracted a computer virus, through my anti-virus software!
It is a rather nasty one.  It hijacks your computer through their software and you cannot get on the web until you buy their program.  I am not sure if you actually get total control back even if you do buy it.  I was not going to fall prey, and we have a very reasonable service man, so my desktop is now at the shop.
I have no access to pictures, so no card posts till I get my computer back :(
Be on the alert to this virus!  Don't buy what they are trying to sell!

PTI Blog Hop ~ Zipper Card

This 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock base card uses the new Movers & Shakers Zipper Die.  I LOVE this clever new die.  I also used the new Raspberry Fizz Damask Pattern paper.  I so LOVE that paper.  the pattern is gorgeous and so is the color!  I love my card layout but I didn't use a anti-static pack on the paper before I stamped & embossed so there is stray white specks.  you cannot see them as well in person.  The patterned butterfly is from the new Papertrey Ink - Beautiful Butterflies Die Collection.  You know how much I LOVE butterflies!

So, in the spirit of today's introduction, we want to challenge you to create an interactive card! Just show us a spinner, pop up, or some other fun interactive card. We can't wait to see what you share!

OK, here is my card.  I got this Sizzix die before christmas and haven't had time to play with it.  I didn't have much time today, either.  I am not posting directions, tonight but if you have questions, ask.

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 9~ card 2

Day-9-Contest
Create a new project using both butterflies and leaves.

I really like this card too, because I love both butterflies and leaves and PTI Green Tea Leaves is one of my favorite paper packs!  This 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock base card has a 4x5 1/4 panel from Green Tea Leaves.  The leaves were cut with Turning a New Leaf in Ripe Avocado & Fine Linen.  Butterflies were cut from all 3 papers.  The small Scallop border was used to cut Ripe Avocado paper and a small strip of Fine Linen was adhered to the top.  A small Fine Linen Label was stamped with Dark chocolate ink (the PTI website is down and I cannot remember the name of the label, it is the one with 3 types on one die).  The sentiment was finished off with small pearls as were the butterflies.
A VERY easy challenge for me ~ I so love leaves and butterflies!

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 9~ card 1

Day-9-Contest

Create a new project using both butterflies and leaves

This was an EASY project for me.  You do not have to look at very many of my cards and see I LOVE both Butterflies and Leaves.  I use those dies a LOT!  This card use 4 1/2x5 1/2 white cardstock as the card base.  The front panel is from Pacific Vineyard.  I cut the leaves from Ripe Avocado cardstock and the butterflies were from the solid and patterned paper.  The sentiment is on Oval Limitless Layers used to cut Spring Moss cardstock & stamped with Spring Moss ink.  The butterfly stack was finished with an adhesive pearl.
LOVE!

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 8 ~ project

I told you I have been VERY busy making Valentines to sell for my Missions fund.  This idea came from a fabulous PTI designer Betsy Veldman HERE.  I made my own interpretation of her amazing idea.  I took a 6x8 1/2 piece of red cardstock and cut it with either Front & Center dies.  I used both in my projects.  You then score at:
      •1 1/2"
      •1 3/4"
•4"
    •4 1/4
I have an old Stampin Up heart stamp that I inked in VersaMark & stamped it several times on the front part.  If you look closely you can see that.  I took a 1x3" piece of white cardstock, stamped it with my sentiment and glued it behind the cut-out on the die.  I punched 2 holes on the left side an ran a length of white seam binding and tied it in a double knot.  A felt heart that I got in a package at Michael's was adhered to the right side.  The wrapper was glued together to make a sleeve & a Hershey bar was inserted. I have purchased 5 boxes of 36 candy bars.  That is 180 candy bars!  I have sold at least 150! They are sooooo cute!   I am telling you, God has so blessed my card ministry!

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 7 ~ card

Day-7-Contest
In honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday and Melissa Bickford's new Heart-2-Heart stamp series, your challenge today is to create a project that incorporates hearts into it's design. They can be stamped hearts, die-cut hearts, felt hearts, glittered hearts, a heart border, or even hear shaped card base. Want to be inspired even further? Do a search on Pinterest or Google for hearts!

Here is my card.  I never make my own background paper.  I guess I am just too lazy, or I just don't take the time.  I have so many pretty background papers, I want to use them.  I do not own the PTI Valentine paper pack, and I have tried to keep the bulk of my supplies on my challenge cards PTI only.... so, I made this background paper.  It is not bad.  It has a few mis-stamps, but that adds to the charm, right?  It has a vintage-ey look!  Mat Stack 3 & the Layerz die were used for my sentiment.  I did use some hearts from cricut cuts and layered them.  I do not own PTI Heart dies.  Also the sentiment is a stamp from Michael's dollar bin.  I added the lock & key die cuts from the Lock & Key collection.  All of the elements were adhered with pop dots.

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 6

Day-6-Contest
PTI-Sketch-5
Free-download
The contest rules today are:  Take one of the 5 sketches from the above download and make a project.  I chose Sketch #5.  Here is my card:

The card base is 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock.  A 4x5 1/4 piece of PTI Beautiful Blooms paper was adhered to the card front.  A 1 1/2x5 1/2 strip of Pure Poppy cardstock was adhered across the center.  Hawaiian Shores cardstock was cut with PTI Celebrations die.  One of the stamps from Celebrations was used with VersaMark ink to stamp the frame and Smokey Shadow ink stamped Signature Greetings.  Simply Chartreuse cardstock was cut with the Sending You leaves.  Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, and Simply Chartreuse buttons were threaded with button twine and adhered to the mat.  I LOVE the sketch and my paper & color choices.  I wish I had threaded the buttons from the back and not allowed the tails to show.  I think it is kind of distracting but didn't realize it before they were all glued down with Glossy Accents!
All 5 sketches are good and will be a good addition to my sketch notebook!

OK, I caved!  I signed up for Pinterest!  I spend WAAAAy too much time on the computer, looking at blogs and searching for ideas, so I really tried to resist.  Papertrey Ink has caused me to spend  too much money on their stamp and dies and things, here they go influencing me, again!  What I did not know is that you do not get an account right away.  I have to be on a "waiting list"!  Seriously?  Might they decide I am not good enough?  Or creative enough?  Or offer enough?  Whatever!  So, for today's Papertrey Ink contest we needed to pick a Pinterest image and make a card from that image.  I know this will BLOW YOUR MIND!  But.... I chose Dawn McVey.  Isn't that card above one of the prettiest you have ever seen?  I LOVE that card.  The picture above the card is from her Pinterest board.  I  make my own version.  TOUGH competition!
So, here it is:

This is a 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock base card.  A 4x5 Raspberry Fizz mat is adhered to the front, I wanted more of the white card base to show to resemble the white baseboard.  A white Half & Half die cut was layered on the mat, to mimic the white frame of the chair.  It was stamped with a linen colored ink, like the background of the wallpaper.  I used the new Celebrations die and cut blue paper like the pillow on the chair and layered Rosie Posie flowers around it.  The leaves had some flaws I didn't see until I took the picture, I tried to repair them and also add some shading like Dawn did.  Haha, I won't be doing that again, as you can see on the close-up shot!
All in all, I like the card.  I can see where if you take items from the pictures and interpret them, you can get inspiration.  I hope it does not become a new addiction...  IF I get off the waiting list! ;)

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 2 card 4

This card was supposed to be the last card not the first card in my post.  Somehow I messed up ~ making 4 cards, photographing, editing and posting seemed to be a MAJOR challenge for me!  It is 8pm & I am fried.  So, I am giving this post a "lick & a promise"!  This freebie (scroll down to the next post to see what I am talking about, if you do not know) is from Heather Nichols.  It is so cute!  I cut it out, used my corner chomper, rounded the edges and adhered it to the bottom half of the wine bottle tag, I cut the "hanger" part off.  The mat is Mega Mat Stack 4 that I used to cut black card stock.  The tag was layered over that mat.  A Beautiful Blooms II #2 flower that you can see on Dawn McVeys blog (from a while back) was added to finish off the card.
VERY simple but the image is so cheery!

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversay Contest ~ Day 2 Card 1

Day-2-Contest

For today's contest there is a sheet of freebie images that each of the 2012 Stamp Designers has contributed to. Your challenge is to print out the sheet onto white card stock and incorporate one of the images into a project. With so many amazing images to chose from on the sheet, it may be difficult to pick just one! Download the freebie sheet below!

Download-image

So the contest today is to take images from the sheet above, color copy them and make a card with them. I really pressed myself and made 4. They are not all my best work but I like most of them. I like this one the best because the image is from, yes, Dawn McVey!  It is a really cute image and I didn't have to color it.  When you see the image I had to color you will see why I like this one better!  A 4 1/4x5 1/2 white card stock base has a panel of a soft pink card stock. Layerz Mat Stack 3 was used to cut white card stock and the the original was used to cut Raspberry Fizz card stock .  A bright pink paper was used with Limitless Layers circle and the punched out Freebie image was layered on it with pop dots.  White seam binding was tied in a double bow around near the bottom of the mat.  You cannot see it but I used Mat Stack 5 collection damask stamp and stamped it on the bottom of the mat.  I used Raspberry Fizz ink.  It is visible in real life.  The bottom of the card has Celebrations stamped in Raspberry Fizz ink.  That stamp is from the new Celebrations stamp set.  I LOVE both of those new stamp sets.  And, I love this image from Dawn ~ she is AMAZING!
