Blog Hop Inspiration

I am a traditional Christmas girl...but I LOVE this picture and these colors!
So pretty. So calm. So bright!!!

Being the literal crafter that I am...

Greenery from Spruce and Sprigs. A new favorite!

My 'mantel" is Keep It Simple frame.

I used several circle dies and punches to cut my ornaments!

BEAUTIFUL inspiration photo!

MAKE IT MONDAY #232: LAYERED STAMPING ON KRAFT

DSC_7119.2

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and colors stamped over white ink on kraft card stock.

I finally finished my Match Boxes!!!
YAY!!!

I now have some time to make some cards.
I need to add a lot to my inventory!

Here is the first one I made this week.

I had never tried this technique!
I really liked it. I typically don't like to stamp on Kraft for the reasons Dawn said,
washed out or changed color

The white really helps and it adds dimension.
I LOVE the white shadowing.
It makes the card look less...flat!

MAKE IT MONDAY #231: MOTIF BUILDING

Motif-1

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a stamped motif using multiple images.

I have been SO BUSY making All Through the House boxes, this is the first card I have made in a couple of weeks!

I have made over 120 lighted boxes.
I have used every image from the kit I could use.
I only have about 50 unsold.
I sell them as fast as I can make them!
There will be a lot of money to donate for well digging!!!

As soon as I started editing this card, I realized I forgot a sentiment!

:(

EMBARRASSING and no time to fix tonight.
Its getting late...
I can add it later.

MAKE IT MONDAY #228: PEARLIZED BLENDING

MIM #228 Pearlized Blending Halloween Card

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and pearlized ink blending.

It is SO much fun to have your team in the World Series!!!!
It is also VERY time consuming!
Apologies to all Met's fans out there...I hope we finish this thing tonight!!!
I am VERY late getting a MIM card done

I do not have Perfect Pearls. I have some Pearl Ex I have had for years.
I chose one of the gold ones...should have chosen the pearl color.
My gold was a bit darker than I would have liked

I do though think for Christmas, the gold works well.
A pretty technique, I LOVE the shimmer.
A simple card.
I LOVE the sentiment from O Holy Night!

OCTOBER 2015 BLOG HOP

Blog hop inspiration

I REALLY loved this inspiration but we have been in non-stop sports mode here in Kansas!
Just finished watching the KC Chiefs game!

I was originally planning on making a spray of foliage on the left side of my card and adding some ornaments on the right side...

I LOVE Spruce and Sprigs SO MUCH, I couldn't detract from it.

So I just added more of the berry clusters to represent the red ornaments!

A sentiment from O Holy Night and I was done!
Spruce and Sprigs will become a new go-to set!
LOVE it!!!

Create Along With Us: October 2015

Create a project utilizing inspiration you've seen during release week. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

HL-ornament-3

I am starting to get serious about making favors for Christmas sales.
I bought Christmas Tree Change Up die but did not buy the stamps.
Originally I used Christmas Tree Trio but when I saw the Starburst stamp from All Through the House, I knew it would be a perfect stamp for the tree. It is!

I LOVE Betsy's Ornament boxes but I didn't get either one of them.

So here is my effort.

I think it is really cute!

I had a fun day...

Not really! but I got some necessary work done.
I also have some information that might be of interest to some of you.

I spent a little over 3 straight hours and cut out all of the images in the All Through the House paper pad.
EXCEPT the stocking, wreaths, fires...whatever else is in that grouping. I just couldn't cut any more!!!

I counted the contents, too:
10 Box wraps
24 Frames
10 Houses
8 Trees
16 Packages/tags
8 Fireplaces
14 Snowman
12 Santa sleigh
8 Mini houses
12 Holly sprigs

I also cut 10 boxes to assemble while I am watching the Royals game tonight!

I wanted to know what I had so I could decide if I need to order another paper pad in October.
I bought an extra but I expect to sell a LOT of these adorable  boxes!!!

All Through the House!!!

Betsy has done it again!
MAJOR cuteness!!!
This is her best kit... EVER!
Even my 27 year old SON said that is REALLY cool!
Of course for him it was all about the light!!! (look closely, you can see it in the box)
Betsy, I cannot thank you enough. My creative desire had taken a big leave of absence!
After the year I have had, I needed some joy in my life. This kit has most definitely brought that joy to me.
I will be able to share that joy with others by using this kit!
XOXOXO
Susan

CUTE!!!

REALLY CUTE!!!

Current attempt at Christmas Tree Change up

I think I like it better with white paper and green stamping.
The star was made with some red chipboard.
I think most of my problem at first is I am only gluing the bottom so it can be filled with candy.
The slits were not staying lined up.
I think I have that under control, now...

I am going to buy some red fun foam. it might work better???

I do think these are really cute.
They are not as cute as the matchbox, tho...

Make It Monday #225

IMG_176201

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and die cut shaped box.

Thank you so much Ashley for this GREAT tutorial.
I mass produce most of what I make so I might not use this one a lot. But if you already have the dimensions figured out it might not be a lot of work to do this one.

Anyway, my creativity and desire have been on a BIG vacation. I am hoping this little effort and my Make-It-Market kit I will be getting next week will get me back on track!!!
Thanks to my generous family for helping buy that in honor of my husband. Al.

I chose the Christmas Tree from Tree Trimming Trio. I LOVE that tree.
I love the shape of the tree,a LOT!

I am VERY happy with how my box turned out!!!

I also got around to finally making a Christmas Tree Change Up box.
I also used another stamp from Tree Trimming Trio.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the star work!
Seems pretty simple... NOT!
This is a prototype and not stamped perfectly...
I add the tag so they can be used as place cards.

I just glued the bottoms together and the first "scallop" on the bottom.
It is held together by the twine.
Any suggestions on a star for the top?
I am baffled.

MAKE IT MONDAY #223: CAMOUFLAGED POCKET INSERTS

DSC_6669.1

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a camouflaged pocket insert.

Dawn came up with an interesting challenge!
Since it's September, I am currently obsessed with leaves!
So I hauled out my Enclosed Leaf set and I added Leaf Prints and Autumn Acorns.

I don't have the pocket die Dawn used, so I just cut a rectangle and used a circle punch to notch the top of the pocket.

I used Monthly Moments: Journal Card 6 Die

I could have done a slightly better job lining up my layers for the frame of the leaf...

But it is a cute MIM.
Thank you Dawn, for another fun challenge!

SAF 2015: RED CARPET CHALLENGE

12-red-carpet-finale

I thought I was done.
I forgot about the Red Carpet Challenge!

I had to edit this to add my arm in my bracelet.
MY right arm was barely long enough to get my left arm and cards in the picture and it is REALLY late!

I am totally done now!
I put my tally in my previous post but here it is again:

I made 11 cards, 1 gift tag, 1 bracelet, 1 felt necklace and 1 altered shirt!

Night, night!

SAF 2015: MAKE IT WORK CHALLENGE

11-make-it-work-challenge

-Create a new card from pieces of reject cards or alter a card from earlier today that you were not happy with.  It's all about making it work!

I was not happy with this card because my stamping was not totally centered.
It was made worse by the black outline and being a VERY tired stamper!

I re-made it leaving out the black outline and giving more attention to my stamping.
I used stamp foam under my images to give better coverage.

It looks better to me. I am much happier with the execution of my stamping. Because, that is what it is all about.
What a fun day but I am exhausted.

I made 11 cards, 1 gift tag, 1 bracelet, 1 felt necklace and 1 altered shirt!
I participated in all of the challenges except for the machine stitching.
If I can get out of bed tomorrow, I might try making one card with my dusty machine!

Good night to everyone who stuck with me, especially my sister Pat *Hi Pat*
She is my biggest cheerleader!

SAF 2015: RUNWAY INSPIRED CHALLENGE

10-runway-challenge

Dawn inspiration

Dawn

What a stunning dress. And Dawns card is STUNNING!

My card is pretty. I am happy with the layout, but it has 9pm stamping!
I am getting a bit weary and fried!

Normally I would re-stamp images that aren't more centered, but...

Pretty colors and again Vintage Linen. You just cannot go wrong.

Ok! The 9pm challenge is up...
One more to go...
