Thanksgiving Pouches

These pouches are based on an idea from Michele Wooderson at Mish Mash .  She sells the flat paper bags you need to make these adorable pouches, although she does not have any in stock right now.  You can find them elsewhere on the Internet.  The bags are 5x7 1/2.  They are folded and the edges zig zaged to form a second pouch.  There are lots of embellishments, ribbons and fun additions.  I use 2 pieces of Ghirardelli chocolate and a bag of cider or cocoa.  Sometimes I use a 4 1/4x5 1/2 folded card.  These have a 4x5 1/2 flat card.  I use hand dyed seam binding and purchased embellishments, when I can, to save time.  I sold 80+ of these for Thanksgiving.  I am working on ones for Christmas now.  I will post those soon.

Jayhawk Notebook

Sorry I have been MIA,  A trip back to NYC for my husband, decorating my house, selling TONS of thanksgiving pouches (I will post a picture, soon) and getting ready for Thanksgiving...... Whew!
My sister Pat, *Hi Pat!* asked me to make a notebook with a Jayhawk theme.  Anyone who is a Jayhawk fan, and if you are not, what is wrong with you?, would love this!  I am pleased how it turned out.  The pennant is a cupcake pick.  I used my handy dandy Tim Holtz scissors and trimmed the pick part off and put two pop dots on the top and one on the bottom edge.  Cute, huh!  The basketball on the clothes pin is a button with the shank trimmed off.
So, posts will be sporadic throughout the holidays but I will post when I can.

Tag Sale Card

I really like this card!  I like it because I love PTI"s butterfly dies.  This 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock base card has a panel of pale green cardstock cut at 4x5 3/8" and embossed with Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  The tag is PTI Tag Sale #3 die.  It was used to cut a Forest Green cardstock.  A medium, white, trimmed shipping tag was stamped with Tim Holtz French Connection stamp.  The large Signature Series PTI Butterfly die was used to cut purple cardstock and the pink one, to be honest, I am not sure where it came from.  Most likely a Cricut cartridge.  It was in my "cuts" drawer.  The butterflies were also stamped with the Tim Holtz stamp to give the some texture, then were layered and a Marquis shaped pearl was adhered to the body.  Organza ribbon was tied in a knot at the tag hole. 3 rhinestones were glued to a tiny clothespin.  Bling was placed on the shipping tag hole and a small rectangle of white cardstock was stamped with the sentiment.  The tag was adhered to the card front with pop dots.

Scrap card

You know I cannot stand to waste paper I love.  This card is made with the last scraps of that brown damask  Lost and Found.  It is pieced with brown cardstock on a 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock base.  Creamy Shimmer dyed seam binding a button tied at the seam, a handmade stick pin, a Prima flower mounted on a "doily" from PTI Love Lives Here die and brown cardstock, and a PTI Tiny Tag.
A pretty, scrappy card!

Blue Monday cards

I am not blue but these cards are.  These cards are ones that showcase the paper.  Really the only embellishments are the ribbon that is tied in a knot and PTI Fillable Frames #10.  I cut that frames out of a section of the paper that was solid blue and used a 2 3/4 oval cut with George and Basic Shapes.  The stamp in PTI Signature Greetings.
Actually, it is kinda blue here.  Friday night our High School soccer team, that a lot of Colin's friends play on, lost to a team of little jerks from Wichita.  Saturday Kansas lost by a field goal.  Sunday the Chiefs got blown out by the winless Dolphins and Sporting Kansas City lost to Houston in the MLS finals!  Oh well, Kansas plays tomorrow in basketball ~ we should win that game!  And.... don't even get me started on Missouri leaving the Big 12!!!!

Simple card

This 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock base couldn't be more simple.  The patterned paper is from a pack & I cannot remember what it is.  My sister Pat *Hi Pat!* gave it to me.  The panel is 4 x 5 3/8.  There was a sheet of tags and I really didn't know what to do with them so this is what I did.  I took one of my trusty 2 3/4 white cardstock ovals cut with George & Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge, stamped it with A Hero Arts sentiment and layered it on the tag.  I put bards in the holes of the tag.  I dyed seam binding pale green and tied it in a bow around the bottom 1/3 of the panel before adhering it to the card base.  I cut a "doily" from Love Lives Here PTI die with the patterned paper & layered Prima E series flowers on top of it.  I used a plain brad and used Glossy Accents to glue a rhinestone on top of the brad.  Easy Peasy!
