Make It Monday #174: Diamond Wallpaper Stamping

43

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and diamond wallpaper stamping.

I rarely make my own background paper.
*I am not very good at it
* It is a lot of work
* I make a lot of cards
* Did I say I am not very good at it?

Round Repeats. I went round and round with these repeats.
I finally got a pattern I could live with.
I used Bloom Builders #3 because I LOVE it and I don't use it enough.
I was trying to not cover up all the work I did to make my pattern!

ALSO... I have a funny shadow on the left side that Photoshop REFUSED to remove.

Did I say I don't make background paper because I am not very good at it?

Memory Box PIESTRA die card

Here are a couple of cards I made with the Memory Box PIESTRA die. It is currently out of stock at Simon Says Stamp but I know you can get it elsewhere, I did.
It makes a great accent on a card. You can cut it as a strip to pop on or use it to cut your card front.

The first card used a  strip of red vellum. I also used the vellum to cut the solid butterfly and the Hello from Phrase Play #3.

Sorry for the poor picture on this one. I cropped it out of a group shot.
This one used the die to cut the card front. I adhered a piece of patterned paper behind it.
I LOVE this die. I wish PTI would produce some of these...

July 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 8

Blog-hop-logo

July Blog Hop Inspiration

Finally, I could not resist making a Luggage Tag into a shaker with Tag Sale #11.

It is a CUTE die, and I haven't made a shaker for a while ;)

The Sending, from the Phrase Play #6, kind of looks like a 2nd grader pasted it on...

and the best wishes stamp was a bit too wide for the inside so I put in on the Monthly Moments arrow!
Colors are all from the inspiration!

My take on the envelope in the inspiration picture.
The Tiny Envelope Die worked great!

It desperately needed something, so once again the Martha Stewart butterfly punch to the rescue!

This one also uses the colors in the picture for inspiration.
I used the new Phrase Play.
Another EASY card.

Again, I just added 3 sequins.

This one uses the color scheme from the inspiration picture.
I wanted to use my new text block, so I did.

I added the frame from MIM Shakers and Sprinkles,
3 sequins, and done!

I think this Text Block is VERY stylish.

July 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 4

July Blog Hop Inspiration

For this one I used the button card for inspiration.
I do not own the Button Boutique set. So, I made my own button card.
I used the Monthly Moments journal Card 2 and just drew a grid.
I used Button Stack dies to make my buttons.

This one copies the flowers on the doily.
I found a heart shaped doily in my stash!

Not a bad match to the picture!
I REALLY love the Daydreamer Stamp Set!

July 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 2

First Nichole commented about the shabby mint background. We do not have that color in out PTI supplies  I mixed inks and made my own. It is not a perfect match but it is close enough for me.
It made enough to make the background panels for all of the cards I made :)

This one was inspired by the embroidery. I am not sure why but Button Boutique reminds me of french knot embroidery. I covered all of the holes with sequins.
A Martha Stewart butterfly punch just added to the look!

July 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 1

July Blog Hop Inspiration

For my first card I chose to use the banner for my inspiration.
I cut my banners with a banner die and trimmed them the same length.
I used this die HERE to cut my "string". I have more control than trying to curve a piece of string!

I used Life is Beautiful for the sentiment. It needed something else, so I used the tiny butterfly from that set.
A simple but pleasing design.

Make It Monday #173: No Outline Watercolor ~ Card 2

51

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and the no outline watercolor technique..

HALLELUJAH!!!

This is a much more acceptable card for this challenge.
I had originally thought I would use Dawns Christmas Poinsettia stamp but it is a solid image. I had SEVERAL other thoughts but...
Then I thought of Peaceful Pinecone. It is not a line image but I thought I could make it work.

It worked pretty well.

I tried to add in some snow but it didn't work our for me.
I am still pretty happy. Compared to the first one... no comparison!!!

Make It Monday #173: No Outline Watercolor

51

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and the no outline watercolor technique..

The other day I watched a video with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner. Jennifer said she never throws away a bad card. She said somebody will like it...
Not so sure about this one...

I officially STINK at water coloring.

I made 2 mistakes, that I am sure of.
I used the original Delightful Dahlia. The outline one. I think there are too many petals. Not enough separation?

Also, I should have used more water. The color is WAY too dark.

I was going to call it quits on this challenge, but I am not going to let it beat me!
I am going to find another flower and do a better job.

Friendly Flowers

This is a  card I made with a scrap of paper and Friendly Flowers.
When I have a piece of paper I LOVE that is either too short or too narrow, I piece it.
I have used PTI Edgers dies since they came out, and I LOVE them. But sometimes I want something different.

I bought this:
Simon Says Stamp A2 CARD CURVED EDGE Craft DIE s201
It is only $5.49

It adds a soft curve. It is 6" so you can use it vertical or horizontal.
I cannot stand having a straight seam, so this works for me!

How pretty is this card. Those flowers are SO PRETTY!
Also, I am trying to clear out some of the scrapbook supplies I have been saving (hoarding!)
That cute metal cherish word is one of them.
This card sold to the first person who saw it!

I am BLESSED

I am a very blessed person!
I have a Savior who died for me and LOVES me. I have a husband who supports EVERYTHING I do. 3 amazing young me I get to call my children.  A great extended family, and... a GREAT plumber!
Yep, a great plumber, Matt.
We love him. He is a fabulous plumber who doesn't charge enough! Have you ever heard of that???
He is also our friend.
I realized the other day I had never given him any cards to give to his wife.
I NEVER do that. I give everyone I know cards.
Well she LOVED the cards and ordered 26 for her office girls.
She wanted "I appreciate you". I only have the one stamp but she was good with the Grateful and Thankful!

Of course the pictures aren't great! (mine never are!) But I had a lot of fun making these.
This is just a sampling.

She also took a small box to her office to sell for me. It would be great if she could sell some.
I LOVE watching those $$ add up for my Mission fund.

So, now you know one of the many reasons I am BLESSED!

Make It Monday #172: Rainbow Medallions

50

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and stamped rainbow medallions.

I could not resist using Life is Beautiful. I thought I was being so clever...
When I went to copy all of the info from the challenge to my post, I saw someone beat me to it!
Oh well...

Here is my take.

I really did think I was being original!
Goes to show you...

I only used 4 colors. I thought the image was too big to crowd more colors in.

Made a pretty card. I LOVE the round Thank You image from Thank You Kindly.
I LOVE that set! Thank You, Dawn ;)
