MAKE IT MONDAY #328: CREATING SHADOW BACKGROUNDS

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and include a shadow background like the one Laurie shared in the video.

I always struggle with challenges that benefit from line images meant for coloring.

I do not buy those stamps. I do not color!

I used Better Together. I bought it for the sentiments, not the flowers. I do not even know if it came with dies. I cut the flowers by hand...not my strength...

I also stamped the images on colored card stock...cheater!!!

 The sentiment is from Perfect Pairings.

MAKE IT MONDAY #327: OMBRE WATERCOLOR BACKGROUNDS

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and include an ombre watercolor background like Betsy shared in the video.

FUN challenge. I am not the best ink blender. I find it hard to make it even. This is easy and forgiving just like Betsy said. 

I LOVE that!

The inks areTropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist.

I used the fun leaf cluster from Floral Sketches. I love those stamps.

I only used the solid cluster and the outline. It was really all it needed.

Like Betsy, I am going to make a few panels in several color combos!

The sentiment is from Penned Elegance. It is heat embossed to add that extra texture and dimension.

MAKE IT MONDAY #326: INCHIE ELEMENTS

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and niche elements like Lexi shared in the video.

I LOVE Lexi's Make it Monday's. Lexi does such unique things!

When I was going through my stamps, I found very few small images. It made sense because I make a LOT of cards. I usually buy BIG things that fill up card fronts. 

I found a lot of "inchie" elements in Initial Sentiments:Birthday.

I did go elsewhere for the Stars (Stars and  stripes) Confetti (Lunchbox Love) and the Balloon came from Balloons and Banners.

I am pretty happy with the card, but it took a lot of time, so not sure I will make more...

but I think it will sell...fast!

JUNE 2018 BLOG HOP

Summertime Popsicle's...

Lot's of color!

We had a busy weekend here in Overland Park.

Middle son Brandon and his team of friends competed in the GREAT LENEXA BBQ BATTLE

It is am amazing sight, 185 BBQ teams compete.

There are teams with $30,000 and up, WAY UP, trailers and rigs to compete.

These guys have no where near that in their equipment.

But they have fun and determination.

They won 18th place overall!!! 3rd in Brisket. If they had done better in chicken they would have placed in the top 10. Chicken is a big 'ole waste to me! Why eat BBQ chicken? Pork and brisket is where its at!!!

The video does not do it justice! It is a big deal!!

MAKE IT MONDAY #325: FLOWERS IN REVERSE

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and flowers in reverse like Dawn shared in the video.

Why does Dawn make everything look SO easy?

I thought this was...challenging!!!

I spent a lot of time with lots of different flower dies.

I really struggled leaving out color...

I ended up using Friendly Flower, Grans Garden and 2 die cuts from Flower Mendalas die.

I love the idea of it. My execution was not on par with Dawn...

CREATE ALONG WITH US: JUNE 2018

I LOVE this card of Dawns...SO pretty!

I tried ink blending the Bold Borders frame and didn't love the results.

I also used Dawns Posie Play set. It is so cute!!!

I cut up a few of the die cuts to get some extra leaves.

MAKE IT MONDAY #324: LOTS O’ DOTS

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and include lots of dots like Michelle shared in the video.

I just own 3 bottles of Nuvo Crystal Gloss Drops.

I have had them for a while and have never used them.

So mixed results for me...twice I stuck a finger in my dots.

I thought Beautiful Berries:Spring was perfect for this technique.

The stamps use dots to fill in the top layer anyway.

This one needs practice. I thought they self leveled...some of mine didn't...

I will make  a few more though because it has so much texture!!!
