3 cards that are NOT DEBOSSED!!!

The obsession is over!

During the May release Danielle Flanders made a set of 3 cards with Life is Beautiful and Delicate Details.
I LOVED them! Actually, they are the reason I bought Delicate Details.

How GORGEOUS are these cards?
SERIOUSLY gorgeous!!!

Danielle used a polka dot velum which I didn't have. I could have stamped mine with Fresh snow ink but didn't want to wait for it to dry.
She also sewed her velum to the card. I LOVE the look of sewing but just don't love doing it.
So I CHEATED!
I glued mine down and added a strip of the card stock to cover the glue!

The first one I made was the blue one and I adhered the Delicate detail cut on top.

For the next 2, I added it under the velum.
I also used some marble paper that I cut for the top layer of the butterfly.
I LOVE how that turned out!

Lastly, I recently broke down and bought VersaFine Black Onyx ink!
I was happy with my True Black! What was all the fuss about???
OH MY!!!
So CRISP! So SOLID!
Yep! I am now a convert!!!

Thank you Danielle for your amazing inspiration!

Make It Monday #166: Debossing Stamped Images ~ Card 8

48

Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and debossed stamped images.

This card is actually Pat's fault as well! (might as well keep blaming her for my obsession. No one else takes responsibility for their actions...)
She had suggested turning the leaves from Leave it Be upside down to look as if they were cascading down the card. I did that with the second Leave it Be card. Thought I might as well re-make the first one in that orientation as well!!! See, NOT MY FAULT!

I decided to switch it up a bit and make a Greeting Card sized card.
I KNOW I am out there by myself on this but... I LIKE a larger size for Birthday, Anniversary and Sympathy cards.  I KNOW!!!

I made the panel the same size 4 1/4x5x1/2. I just matted it and mounted it on a 5x7 white greeting card.
I have to admit. Pat was right. It does look better falling down!
See, that is why I had to re-make it! And, if I HAD to re-make it, I might as well post it!
Besides Diana K and I are in a race to see who can make the most
Debossed Stamped Images!!!

I am ahead!!!!!

Make It Monday #166: Debossing Stamped Images ~ Card 7

THIS IS NOT MY FAULT!!!!!

Blame it on my Sister Pat *Hi Pat!*
She INSISTED that I make a purple butterfly card. She is older than I am. I was taught to respect my elders!  ;)
So I FORCED myself to make another of these amazing cards with the amazing technique using the amazing Life is Beautiful!

It is really pretty, right?
I mean if you are forced to do something...

I am still not promising that I am done with this technique...
I think Diana K. and I are in a race to see who can post more Debossed Stamped Images!!!

Sorry!
I cannot help myself ;)
Another one. And... I will not promise this will be the last one!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this technique!!!

Back to Leave it Be.
My Sister pat *Hi Pat!* had suggested I turn the image upside down on the previous leaf card.
Hmmmm, why didn't I think of that?

So, do you like it better?
I like the first one, but especially for this leaf, which I initially rejected, it is MUCH better!

See the cute little enamel dots? Strategically placed!
Yep, I got a Tropical Teal smudge when I was adding the veins to the leaves.
I LOVE enamel dots. Card savers!!!

Make It Monday #166: Debossing Stamped Images ~ Card 5

48

Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and debossed stamped images.

Yep, another one! I cannot help myself...

When I first got Pedal Pushers I made a TON of cards with it. I have sold a LOT of those cards and might need to get another batch made...
They are SO CUTE!!!

I was looking through my stamps to see what else would work for this current obsession of mine...
Pedal Pushers popped up!

Worked pretty well. I knew I wanted the wheels and the basket to be dimensional. I kind of struggled with the back wheel, so the gears would show. I might have done that differently, but...

Pretty darn cute!!!
And, I did it in Purple, for you, Pat!

Can you tell I REALLY LOVE this technique???!!!
Here is another card...

I really love Leave it Be as well. I tried several of the leaves before I settled on this one.

I would have like to have left the stem off, but I don't think the embossing would have worked out, so I left it as is.

Looks like falling leaves, right?

After I made the first set of cards, the butterfly ones, I set them on the edge of my work table, to turn off the lights. My oldest son had stopped in to say Hi! He had set a cup right where I sat those cards...
Yep, the back got wet. I didn't even tell him, I was going to just trim off the back and re-mount the front. I took them into Curves with me to show them around. I told one of the Ladies, who is a BIG customer, what had happened and that I was going to re-make it. She said no you are not, and bought it on the spot. The slightly wrinkled back didn't bother her at all.
Shows you, we are all probably a bit too picky!

Debossed images ~ that were not stamped ;(

ETA:
My sister Pat *Hi Pat!* told me the embossed frame idea was NOT mine, it was Dawn's!
I told you I was falling asleep! Guess I was dreaming!
Credit given where it is due!!!
(It's still cute!)

So last night while I was waiting to fall asleep I had this great idea...

Use either the Scallop Monthly Moments Journal card, or the Scallop frame from the Make-it-Market kit...

To deboss a frame on the panel of a card and then add, well, whatever.

So, it works great, and I LOVE it! The problem is, it won't work for the MIM!
The debossed image is not stamped. :(   BooHoo!!!

Sharing it anyway! I think it is kind of awesome!!!

Adds an easy touch. Texture without distracting from the focal image.
What do you think?

I finally branched out on this one. I LOVE Mum's the word. It is such a pretty flower. It worked perfectly for this technique.

Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Limeade ice and Hawaiian Shores!

A little warping here in the center.

This won't be the last of this technique for me!
Thanks Dawn!

Make It Monday #166: Debossing Stamped Images ~ Card 2

Again, here I copied Dawn's card. Same color combo. Different sentiment.
Practicing...

I SERIOUSLY LOVE this technique! SERIOUSLY!!!

And... I seriously love Life is Beautiful!
I have a hard time with one layer cards. But not this one, NO WAY!

How I LOVE Dawn's Make-it-Monday. You can count on it being colorful and gorgeous!
This one is no exception!
Life is Beautiful ~ What else can you say???

So, the first 2 I copied Dawn's card. Seriously? Why wouldn't you? It is GORGEOUS!!!

I used Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry ~ Ummmm. LOVE that combo!
I chose to make my card on a panel and adhere it to the card front. Less waste if I messed up!
I added LOTS of adhesive to get the panel as flat as I could. It does warp as Dawn says.

This technique is not hard but... I miss-aligned the bottom butterfly, and... It smudged a bit.
I think my cutting pad was not pristine-ly (that is NOT a word! Spell check rejected it) clean.
Watch out for that.

Ok, I made more...

May 2014 Blog Hop Challenge ~ Card 1

Blog-hop-logo

May-Blog-Hop-Inspiration

Pull out all of your Aqua Mist and Melon Berry supplies (or colors close to these) and create a masterpiece or two!

How much do you LOVE Life is Beautiful?
Well, I LOVE it a lot. I have long used the other PTI butterflies and stacked them like the amazing Dawn McVey taught us. They almost always take a card that needs just a little something, to AWESOME!

These beauties stand on their own.
I used the frame from the Make-it-Market kit, I LOVE that.

Simple and stunning. I am going to be using this set a LOT around here!!!

Lizzie's new Text Block is ADORABLE! I was in desperate need of a new Baby set. I love the diaper delivery van, but I needed another choice. Rattled makes a great little embellishment for the card.

I used the gingham paper from the pattern pack because it looks like a baby pattern to me.
I swapped out the larger circle on the rattle for a little more interest.

I probably use the Heart Border die as much as I use anything else in my collection.
It just adds so much to dress things up!
