Movers and Shakers Zippers

A quick post with the last Movers and Shakers Zippers card I made. I really don't have any tips for this die. With some of the other interactive dies I really do recommend using lighter weight card stock, but with the zipper one it isn't as big of a deal. I do stamp the sentiment under the zipper off on a strip narrow enough to slide under the zipper so if I sell it, the buyer knows what it says. I used Eyelet Lace & Butterfly dies to embellish the card. Actually, a VERY simple card.

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration ~ Day 7!!!!!!!

I MADE IT!!!! Day 7 ~ 8 Challenges!
In thinking about this card the thought that came to mind was busy. So, I was looking to make a busy card. This one fits the bill. It is definitely busier than most of my card, especially by using a patterned paper. I was originally going to make it with Smokey Shadow as the background but I thought it would be too plain and wouldn't fit in with the overall layout of the card. the best patterned paper I had that matched the color scheme was Green Tea Leaves.
The card is 5 1/4x5 1/2 white card stock, side fold. The panel is the small print Green Tea leaves. I cut Smokey Shadow with the Spiral Notebook Page die. I tried to emboss it but didn't like that so I pulled out an "oldie but goodie" Bingo Card stamp and used VersaMark. The Winter Wisteria Half & Half cut was layered on top of the card and stacked with an Ocean Tides Limitless Layers 1 3/4 cut, a 1 3/4 circle from Lavender Moon, A Beautiful Blooms felt flower & a smaller Green Tea Leaves one. The Jar Label die was used to cut Lavender Moon and was stamped with Smokey Shadow. 3 butterflies were cut from Smokey Shadow, Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon. Finally a Turning a New Leaves sprig from Ocean Tides finished off the card.
I am taking at least 1 day off!
Thank you again to all of you who took the time to leave your VERY supportive comments!

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration ~ Day 6, version 2

This is my second post of the day, so be sure and scroll down and see the first card! Number 7 in this challenge! I am almost there!
I REALLY like this card! I said in my first post, which for you is my second post ;) that I like to take a more literal method in my response to the challenge. This is as literal as I could get! Without gluing skeins of yarn on the front of the card! I have made a design similar to this before but not this exact one. It uses strips of all of the challenge colors, the base of the card being the Vintage Cream. I used Edgers #3 to trim the edges of the strips and then spaced them out and adhered them to the Vintage Cream base. Aqua Mist card stock was cut with Fillable Frames #10 (LOVE that one!). I always use an oval, cut on my Cricut, when I   use that frame as a mat. That Vintage Cream oval was stamped with Terracotta Tile ink. The card was finished with a length of Cream Seam Binding tied in a double bow.
LOVE it!

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration ~ Day 6

Day 6! I actually made 2 cards today! have you noticed something about me when I do a challenge? I am  literalist! (I don't think that is a word) But what I mean is when I am given a picture to follow, I want to follow it as closely as I can. I feel I have done that on all of my cards. That is just me! Which is kind of odd because I am NOT a rule follower! Oh well, on to the card,
It is surprisingly a 4 1/2x5 1/2 white card stock base card. I took Harvest Gold card stock and stamped it with the fern image from Blooming Button Bits in VersaMark ink. I cut Blueberry Sky card stock with Mega Mat Stack 4. The fern image from Turning a New Leaf  was inked in Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry and Aqua Mist. They were stamped on white card stock and cut with Layers Mat Stack 4. Double Ended Banner was used to cut Aqua Mist card stock. I used Nichole Heady's technique HERE to make a dimensional banner. The images are from Little Labels, stamped in Aqua Mist. My literal take on the inspiration.

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration ~ Day 5

Day 5! I will need to make 2 cards one day if I am going to do all 8 color challenges. These colors are so bright and cheerful ~ I LOVE them. The new Winter Wisteria is such a pretty shade of purple, and I LOVE Hibiscus Burst. I need to use it more, but  my ink pad is dry and I have been waiting for the new ink in that color.
The card is 4 1/4x5 1./2 white card stock base. The Harvest Gold panel was embossed with Damask Designs Impression Plate. I LOVE that plate ~ I LOVE Damask! I used the Wine Bottle Tag die and cut New Leaf card stock, trimmed off the top and layered Tag Sale # 5 cut with white card stock on top.  Spring Rain was used with Banner Borders Die to cut the top border. Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die was used to cut the Hibiscus Burst card stock and Winter Wisteria was cut with Turning a New Leaf die. Signature Greeting's inked in Winter Wisteria finished the card.
I thank all of you who have taken time to leave a comment. I know it takes a lot of time but it is so appreciated!

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration ~ Day 4

Day 4, can you believe I am still hanging in here? This card was harder for me. I had an initial idea of a curve like the sofa back and squares of pattern like the pillows. I made SEVERAL pattern pieces and none were exactly what I envisioned. This is what I came up with. I used all of the colors, however the Soft Stone really does not show up all that well. The 4 1/4x5 1/2 white card stock base has Mat Stack 5 that cut Fine Linen card stock. A floral image was made with a stamp from Mat Stack 5 stamps set.  A strip of Melon Berry across the center. The 3 panels at the bottom are Retro Background basics, Chevron Stripes and the same floral image stamped on soft stone. The Jar Label was cut with soft Stone and stamped in Lavender Moon. I added some dew drops for a little interest.
I will do my best to be back tomorrow.
Oh, my friend persuaded Sam's to re-print our invites at no cost! God was looking out for Me!

Make It Monday #64: Using Color Inspiration ~ Day 3

I made it to Day 3! WooHoo!  I really liked this color combo and I thought the design inspiration was easy to copy. I am pleased, actually VERY pleased how this card turned out!
First an update. Colin did not make it to the stage at DECA Nationals, they were 11th and you need to be at least 10, but we are SO PROUD of him! A HUGE accomplishment. Over 16, 000 attendees! Way to go Colin!
Second. I told you I spent 2 1/2 hours getting graduation invitations printed yesterday. I printed 200 invitations without the day or time! I cannot tell you the frustration, let alone the $$ down the drain! I had so much trouble and got so distracted..... I felt so STUPID! Anyway one of the other Mothers is taking care of the re-print. Hopefully Sam's will at least give us credit for the envelopes!
OK, back to the card. 4 1/4x5 1/2 white side fold. The Royal Velvet leaves are from Turning a New Leaf, the Smokey Shadow mat is Mat Stack 3 & Layerz, the flowers are all Notched Flowers and 1/2 & 3/4 circle punches. Other than Smokey Shadow I have the "rule of 3" if you count the top leaf sprig as 2 where it splits.
I hope to see you tomorrow!
