Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~ Handmade accessory 3

DSC_0312.1

I made a flower pin for this one, too. I used the largest Notched Flower Die, my current favorite. I too used Vintage Cream Felt. I chose to use a small button in the center and fluff it up.

I like how the little Notches show up!

This is my sloppy sewing of the pin back.

I decided to make a card to display/package my pin. The new die will be AWESOME for that purpose!

I used Pacific Vineyard Patterned Paper.  Mat Stack 3 & Layerz were used to cut Ripe Avocado and Vintage Cream card stock. The sentiment is from Little Labels Stamp Set. I LOVE that little stamp!

I finished the card with a snippet of Filigree Border in Black.

I ADORE these Poinsettias. These are made with Dawn's Christmas Poinsettia Die Collection. Pure Poppy and Vintage Cream felt. A button secures the layers. A pin back is sewn to the back. I LOVE felt!

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~ Watercolor technique ~ card 2

For this card, I went out on my own, sort of. I just decided to take a variety of ink and paint them on watercolor paper with water. There were stripe techniques in Nichole's post, so that is what I did. Here it is:

I am actually DELIGHTED with the results. I had very low expectations because of past efforts. I think it is a nice look! I used Notched Flowers and the stamps we got in December. It is sort of my "current favorite"! The mat is Melon Berry and the flower colors are Melon Berry, Summer Sunrise and Terracotta Tile. The sentiment is Dawns Happy for You! I am DEFINITELY making more of this card. If you had several pieces of Watercolor paper cut to size you could knock them out fairly quickly! And... it was FUN!

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~Watercolor technique

I thought I would try and copy Dawns technique. I wanted to keep it simple because I have tried this before and..... not great results. Here is Dawns card:

Hers is so pretty. Here is mine:

Again I was keeping mine simple with a simple stamp. I used Willow. I stamped it on Watercolor paper. I initially used Spring Moss ink. My Spring Moss is getting un-usable. It is so dry. I wet it and then decided to re-stamp with Simply Chartreuse. It looked much better and actually spread the ink out more, so that was a good decision. The brown trunk really won't spread. I was afraid to add more water. I thought the paper would disintegrate so I left it as is. The watercolor paper is mounted on top of Royal Velvet card stock. A sentiment from Willow is stamped at the bottom, you can barely see it.
Not too bad for my first attempt.

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~Color challenge

I normally love color challenges but this one didn't work out as I envisioned. Hmmm, oh well, here it is:

I used Aqua Mist pattern pack and Spring Rain, Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, and Lemon Tart card stock. Mat Stack 6, 3 Butterflies and Filigree Border. Do you like the Filigree border as an extra texture on the butterfly? It looks like feathers, to me ;)

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~ Sketch challenge ~ card 2

MY first card. I really like this card and will make it again but I was in a hurry and did not use an embossing buddy on my card stock. That is a BIG No No when using white embossing powder on dark card stock. I just did not have time to re-do it. Here it is with all it's little white flecks :)

I was at Michael's earlier and they had one of those wire Bird Cages you can attach pictures to. I have been looking for a way to display my cards in my light box for a LONG time. I will play with this for a while and see how I like it.

The card uses Pure Poppy cut with Bottle Tag die, and a strip of Raspberry Fizz I notched. I use a square punch to notch, when I can. It makes a more even tail, for me. The PRETTY Damask paper is from PTI Damask Designs Patterned Paper. I took the Filigree Border die and cut 2 filigrees, trimmed them out and made a flower. I have a supply of resin flowers like PTI is going to start selling. I used the one closest to Pure Poppy and glued it to the center of my flower. It looks sort of orange in the picture but it is red.

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~ Sketch challenge

My second card.

I used Framed Out #11 Die and stamps. I cut Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Hibiscus Burst, and Lavender Moon card stock. I used the little dotted stamp with VersaMark ink on the inside of the die cut. Happy Valentines is from Happy Day (my oldest son used to call anything tall that resembled a candle a Happy Day ;) !)
Super simple. It is from Nichole's card HERE

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~ wrap, tag or gift packaging project

DSC_0067.1

Dawn did a Make It Monday HERE . I really wanted to participate but I was in the middle of my crazy time. I really will share about that when Anniversary time is over.
So....

This is my version. I used the card from Day 1. It is so funny because I told you had had issues doing this and then TODAY I had a chance to make packaging for it :)

This is a better shot of the card.

For of the packaging I used the Large Glassine bag, Mat Stack 5 and the stamp set, Half & Half die, Hibiscus Burst card stock and Hibiscus Burst ink. The Mat Stack was stamped with Summer Sunrise ink. As Dawn says in her video, it looks like a gift itself ~ PRETTY!

Papertrey Ink 6th Anniversary ~ Design Team Favorites projects ~ Card 4

Wow! I LOVE card number 6 on Dawns page! I REALLY love it! So, I made it nearly verbatim! I did add a couple of changes. She used a die from Fabulous Frames, I trimmed Mat Stack 5 in half after I cut Fine Lined pattern pack with it.

I also used The Sweet Life flowers also stamped in Hawaiian Shores but I used Classic Craft as the shading.

The sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies.

A PRETTY card to add to my stash! That is one of the benefits of making more than one card for a challenge! Extra cards on hand!
I wonder what the challenge will be tomorrow???
