MAKE IT MONDAY #333: LAYERING PATTERNS OVER IMAGES

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and include layering patterns over images like Dawn shared in the video.

So if you do this technique, use darker colors like Dawn used...not lighter colors like I used...

If you look at the close up you can see the whit stenciling over the card front...

VERY faint, but it is there. Shows up better in person.

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: WRAP-UP

What a fun day.
I liked it a lot more that I thought I would.

Here are my completed projects!

I cannot get over how much I like my watercolor poppy, the travelers journal and the pop-up box. I knew I would love Dawns set. Man, it is so pretty, I wish I had it. I had made paper before so I knew that was fun. And I had made Lizzies flowers before. But it all was a great combination for the Kansas farm girl that has a black thumb and cannot grow a darn thing!!
Thank you Papertrey Ink for your innovative products, amazing design team and incredible service to your loyal customers!

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: GREEN THUMB GARDEN JOURNAL WITH HEATHER NICHOLS

I an neither a seamsterss or a journal maker. I asked if we could make a paper one and they graciously said yes, so here is mine!

I used the dimensions from the pages you can buy from Papertrey Ink
Fun Frames was the centerpiece and a Mandalas flower was the decoration

It is bound with bookbinders twine,

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: GARDEN WHIMSY POP-UP BOX WITH LEXI DALY

Wowzers!!!
This one gave me a headache!!!

I did not buy the kit so I had to use the template.
It was pretty straight forward. I used my paper trimmer as much as I could.

I hand cut my grass and the flowers we all from the mini button dies.

Overall, I"m pretty happy with it considering I didn't have the dies
Not sure time-wise I'll make them to sell!

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: CRAFTING A FELT FLOWER WREATH WITH LIZZIE JONES

Lizzies wreath is GORGEOUS!!! I am lacking some dies and more importantly...patience to make one of these.

So...I made a paper wrath for a bottle tag!

3 flowers..Rustic wreath as its base.

I do want to make more flowers because they do make pretty bottle tags!

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: PLANTING YOUR GARDEN WITH DAWN MCVEY

On this one I was looking for a fum starburst center.
I remembered Bloomers!

I used Grans Garden and made a stencil for my leaves.
The brown leaves are from Ruby Rose

The sentiment is Penned Elegance

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: WATER YOUR FLOWERS WITH BETSY VELDMAN

Pretty proud of this one.
No Poppy stamp and poor watercolor skills...

I used Floral Sketches, my go-to when I need a line image.
I turned out a MILLION times better that I dreamed!!!

Tulip Time is the stem.

I didn't take the time (I forgot) to put a sentiment on the card...

Not to bad for a fake poppy...

STAMP-A-FAIRE 2018: CREATING PLANTABLE PAPER WITH HEATHER NICHOLS

Not a lot of time for explanation...

I made handmade paper for Cub Scouts years ago...

My paper is not plantable but it does have leaves and stems

Dawns new Sentiment die cut

I had Grans Garden out for die cut leaves and for for Dawns class...

CREATE ALONG WITH US: AUGUST 2018

Create a project utilizing inspiration you’ve seen during release week. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

The inspiration I chose was Dawns card from Monday.

Dawn_McVey_Say_It_Simply_Gourd-eous_1

It is so pretty. I cannot wait to get her new Scalloped Stackers: Small
The Giving Thanks die is also amazing.

I used Paper Clippings Thank you.
It mimics the new die when you trim off the extra florals and leaves.

Sticking with Dawn's color theme...Saffron Spice and Tropical Teal.

No pumpkins in my stash but I am very fond of the acorns from Giving Thanks. They worked well.

Fence_Line_Autumn_Papertrey_Ink_Blessings3

I wanted to make that unbelievably GORGEOUS card Betsy posted this morning.
Goodness sakes it is Beautiful.

Here is my pitiful effort...
SO LAME.
I didn't come close to having the small elements to pull it off anyway...
Totally putting myself out here on this one.
Not a very good representation...

MAKE IT MONDAY #332: PETITE PATTERN PLAY

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and include petite pattern play like Michelle shared in the video

When Lexie did the Inchie MIM, I used stamps from Initial Sentiment Birthday.
It was so much fun, I decided to use it again.

I also got back on my Berry Sorbet obsession.

I am very happy with this card but it took too much time lining up the stamps so it will probably be a solo version!

It is a cute, but for me, time-consuming technique!

MAKE IT MONDAY #331: CREATING MIXED BACKGROUND TEXTURE

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and mixed background texture like Stephanie shared in the video.

I wasn't sure I would like this technique. I stalled all week...
But once I decided on a Cover Plate, It fell into place.

I chose Butterfly Cover plate and pulled out and oldie background stamp set, Botanicals.

The accent stamp I chose is Leave it Be. One of my all-time favorite stamp sets.
Monochromatic pink was the color theme.

It turned out so cute. Once I figured out how I was going to proceed, it was pretty easy. I will be making a few of these.
Everyone likes Butterflies, right?
