MAKE IT MONDAY #259 - OMBRÉ CLUSTER STAMPING

DSC_7798.1

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and ombré cluster stamping.

I really like this technique. I really LOVE Dawns card!
I am so glad she went with The blue/green colors. Then I could do the berry colors!!!

So this was my second attempt.
The first, Vintage Linen didn't turn out all that great.
The images were a bit large and it got crowded.

So plan B was Forget-Me-Not

I liked it a LOT better.
I still might have used too many flowers in comparison to Dawn...
I popped up 3 smaller blooms to add dimension.

I LOVE, love the Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Lovely Lady combo!

Here is my Vintage Linen card. It's ok but I just think the images are big so it lacks any randomness...

Fun technique Dawn.
I need to stamp up a bunch of these...
with smaller images, of course!

MAKE IT MONDAY #258: COVER PLATE TAGS

IMG_3619

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and Cover Plate Tag.

Another crazy week with little stamping time.

I made 3 tags this afternoon.

For the first one I used In the Woods.

The cover Plate on this one is from the Basket Die.
I added a Die cut from Just a Number

This last one is from Winter Woods Cover Plate.

It was fun to see what I had and what I could use for this challenge.
Great source of inspiration for tag making!
Thanks Laurie

AUGUST 2016 BLOG HOP

Blog-hop-logo

August Blog Hop

I have still been super busy and I didn't have time to make my card ahead of time...

Here is what I managed this afternoon...

I used Woodblock Prints Stencil and Lovely Lady ink.
I went a bit pinker than the photo...

Tulip Time stems gave me the look of the paintbrushes.
I did those in Gray...pretty un-classical for me!

I did want to work the creamy tan in, so I sponged a bit of Fine linen ink and I cut my Amazing word from Dawn's It's the Thought die from Fine Linen paper.

Not a bad interpretation for me...not totally literal! YAY!!!

CREATE ALONG WITH US: AUGUST 2016

Create-along-with-us-heading
Create a project utilizing inspiration you've seen during release week. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

I chose to use Dawns Bible journaling as my inspiration.

I bought the same bible she did.
There are not a ton of choices and I wanted a pretty one...

So...

I took a lot of pictures.
I am not done with these pages. I want to get a package of multi-color highlighters and go in and highlight the scripture I stamped.
The last couple of weeks have been crazy busy...

Colin left to go back for his Senior year at KU...:(
He is not far away, but I still miss him.
He helped me get some projects done around the house...so I haven't had a lot of time...

The above picture is the back of the page from above,
It does bleed through but you gotta let that go.

I LOVE using the outline images from Floral Sketches...
So soft and pretty

Praises and phrases is a great set to use.

You do get bleeding...let it go!!!

I LOVE the page above...the starburst is from Bloomers...

Berry Sorbet stamps really pretty but is really noticeable on the other side...

I still have a ton of stamps to go through.

I could spend all day stamping in my bible, but I have my mission work to do.
I totally consider it a form of worship.
This is not my study bible.

MAKE IT MONDAY #257: SENTIMENT STRIP GROUNDING

SentimentstripicecreamflatSQ

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and sentiment strip grounding.

I needed to make a birthday card for my middle son who will be...sniff, sniff..27 on the 18th!
It doesn't seem possible!

I decided to use Dawns Just a Number set.
It is so fun the personalize cards, when you can.
I also used The Skinny for an extra sentiment, to ground the embellishments.

I used a Modern Background Stencil just to add texture like Lexi did.

Embellishments are always tricky for masculine cards,
My go-to is stars.
I have these wood veneer stars that, to me, work perfectly.

Brandon will say that it is nice Mom...
That is the best I will get...

SAF REMIX

SAF-2016-logo

Recreate a project you created for this year's SAF event, utilizing inspiration from one of the SAF 2016 videos. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

This was the card I chose to remake.
The pointillism one.
Not because I didn't like it...I just wished I had used a fall theme.

So, I did just that.

I still used Leave it Be. It is one of my favorite stamp sets.
The best Foliage set...in my opinion!

The inks are Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile, Canyon Clay inks.

I love this technique far more than I ever thought I would.
I LOVE the texture it gives.

A pretty fall card to start the season.
