MAY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Blog-hop-logo

Blog hop inspiration

I love the way Sarah layered the gray text over the watercolored images here, and I thought how lovely the same design principles would look applied to a card! Replace the popsicles with butterflies, florals, hearts, stars or anything else you dream up. Pick one of the color palettes to base your entire card on, or try using all of them! Look for big sentiments that featured a mix of serif and script. Really experiment and have fun stepping out of your comfort zone!

I really enjoyed the inspiration photograph.
I am not usually a pastel person, but somehow the sorbet look of these colors spoke to me!

I used the small butterfly from the MIM Color Pop Butterflies.
It is the perfect size.
The colors in the inspiration look like they are water colored.
I wanted to stamp, so I did a lot of stamping off, first.

The background is ink splattered with mostly Aqua Mist,
with a few drops of Summer Sunrise.

I was happy to find a mix of script and outline fonts in
Everyday Happiness!

Pretty happy with this card, even in pastel...though I would rather say...sorbet!

Thank you for looking at my blog!
Susan
