MAKE IT MONDAY #241: OMBRE STENCILED BACKGROUNDS

Ombre-tulips-still

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and an ombre stenciled background.

How absolutely GORGEOUS is Betsy's card!!!
Just Stunning!!!
I am SO irritated with myself for not ordering the tulips!!!
They are in my cart for next month!
Too many florals???...apparently NOT!!!

So, I decided the best technique advice in inking a background is patience!
Yeah...that doesn't work so well for me!
If you look in the dictionary for a description of patience, my name is NOT listed!!!

I did my best...

I actually smeared on a bit of transparent texture paste after I inked the stencil.
I would like to say for extra texture, but really...it might have covered some of my heavier-handed, less-patient inking spots.

I used 3 colors, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise.
It kind of looks like 2...

It is a great technique...for all of you patient souls...

FEBRUARY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Blog-hop-logo

Inspiration

How beautiful is this!  The subtle pinks and greens remind us that spring is on it's way!  Not only can you draw inspiration from the colors, but the images as well.  Like the fruit, ferns, butterflies and florals.  Play with layering basic shapes and offset mats.  Think outside the box and explore your creativity!

I was thrilled to get to use my new Scroll Frame Die.
I love the shape and curve of it.
I cut it using Sweet Blush card stock.

I also was able to use my new Painted Petals set.
I really like this set as well. I used new-to-me Lovely Lady ink for the flower
and the greens are Spring Moss.

A small butterfly at the bottom and sequins at the top!

MAKE IT MONDAY #239: CUSTOMIZING PATTERNED PAPER

MIM239 - Hello Sunshine Card

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and customized patterned paper.

When I have scraps from patterned paper, I frequently adhere them to card bases.
It gets the scraps out of the way, and gives me a head start on quick cards.

I had this red and white polka dot from Beautiful Blooms patterned paper already on a card front.

I used the circle outline from Just a Note.
That was one of my favorite early sets.

Dawn's Enclosed Flower seemed like the perfect choice to go along with the circle/dot theme.

I LOVE it.
I have actually done this technique before... sort of...
I have dropped a stamp on a finished card and was too discouraged to toss it, so I "embellished" the boo-boo! I never knew it was a technique :)

Day 10: Paper Crafting Alphabet

The-challenge

Paper-Crafting-Alphabet-web

Create a new project using the Paper Crafting Alphabet and letters from your first or last name.

I foolishly chose my last name for this challenge...

BEAUCHAINE...YIKES!

Sentiment Banner
Emboss Resist
Border
Underline Sentiment
5 Colors
Heat Emboss
Impression Plate
New Product (I skipped this one)

So 7 listed techniques.

I have 2 repeats in my name...whew!!!

I was looking for a gender neutral...masculine'ish card.
I am always needing those.

It was fun. I really likes the underlining the sentiment.
I never do that! I need to do it more.

This has been a really fun anniversary.
PTI Anniversary and Stamp-a-Faire are my favorite stamping events!!!

Day 9: Saturday Snail Mail

The-challenge

Create a thank you card and mail it to our warehouse staff.  Just for fun, we would love to have you snag a picture of your card before you mail it and share it with us using our new hashtag, #saturdaysnailmail.  Your project could be highlighted on our Instagram/Facebook page!

So I actually made this card yesterday...
I read the challenge, but...
It's Papertrey's 9th Anniversary!
I was thinking Anniversary, not Thank You...

So I remade the sentiment banner, took more pictures, more editing...

So, now its right...and I am happy its right!

It has 9 candles to celebrate 9 AMAZING years!!!

Thank you to all of the staff at Papertrey Ink

Day 8: Color Pop Fortune Teller

The-challenge

Download
Create a new card using at least three colors selected with the Color Pop Fortune Teller. Feel free to add in whatever neutrals you like.

Boy, do I remember making these...by the dozens!
They were a lot of fun!
This was fin, too!

I chose 2, and 9 for my September birthday.
The colors revealed were:
Summer Sunrise
Canyon Clay
Berry Sorbet

I was happy, as Berry Sorbet is my favorite PTI color!

I would have NEVER chosen these colors, but they work.

But...If I have Berry Sorbet, I am pretty happy!

Fun challenge. I am saving my fortune teller.
I can use it when I feel like I am in a rut!

Day 5: Sampler Square Challenge

The-challenge

Create a new card that features nine 1-1/2" squares, each altered in a different way.  Mount them all onto a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square card base.

YIKES!!!
This was a challenging...challenge!

Without further ado (cause it is not deserved)...

I had an idea to use either Cover Plates or Embossing plates to make my squares.
I think the idea was sound...execution was far more difficult!
1 1/2 x 1 1/2 is not a very big piece on some of the cover plates...

It worked out...This is probably not a strength for me!

Create Along With Us: February 2016

Create-along-with-us-heading
Create a project utilizing inspiration you've seen during release week. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

DSC_7330.1

Don't you just LOVE the card Dawn posted this morning???
I adore it! I love the layout and OH MY...the color!!!

I bought Brushed Blooms MONTHS ago. I have never had a chance to ink it up. I mean...Vintage Linen took over...completely.
But every. time. I see a design team member use it, I remember why I bought it!

So Dawns card was the perfect inspiration to ink it up!!!

It translated pretty well.

Ahhhhhh. The color! Raspberry Fizz and Pure Poppy. A match made in heaven!

Day 3: Grab & Craft Challenge

The-challenge

Create a new project that is created with supplies you grab and gather together in 5 minutes.  Your project must utilize everything you grab!

I did not have much time, so I did not pick a lot of supplies for this challenge.

My sister Pat *Hi Pat!* gave me one of the Floral Flaps die.
You really need just one. It was a generous gift.
I LOVE the die!

I think it made a cute "grab-bag" card!

Day 2: Dress Up Inspiration

The-challenge

Create a new project that is inspired by a piece of clothing/outfit from your closet or online clothing retailer.

A sweater that I have always loved the pattern on.

Again, Vintage lines. I knew the line image would translate well!

I think it looks a lot like the sweater.

Day 1: DT Favorites

The-challenge

Dawn's-colors

Create a new project that uses one of the Color Recipe Cards from the options above.

So My Woman's conference is over! It was a HUGE success!
I sold out of almost everything!
I will post more on that later. First I had to make 3 cards on Super Bowl Sunday!

I haven't had a chance to use Vintage Linen in a while, so I used it on 2 cards!

Dawn's color combo with Dawn's beautiful stamp set!

I did add Summer Sunrise for the flower centers.

What I have been doing...UPDATE

Starting tomorrow evening there is a Woman's conference at my church.
There are at least 1200 registered.
I was asked to make boxed cards with inspirational sentiments:

Thankful
Grateful
Blessed
Joy
Peace
Happy

Thankfully I am Blessed that Papertrey Ink has amazing dies and stamps that fit the request.

This is the table full of items I am taking to sell.

The bulk of the items have been made since the first of the year.

Hot Chocolate Folders and Chicken Noodle Soup folders made like Lexi showed on a MIM.
There are about 125 of those.

The boxed cards.
So on those...
I made about 400 cards with various embellishments and with the sentiments I listed above.
There are 20 boxes of 10 that the conference is buying to give to volunteers.
There are 39 boxes of 5 for sale.

Here is a box.
Lousy picture.
Still struggling with the focus on my camera...

More soup folders

I made about 125 Tiny Takeout and Pillow Boxes in both Valentine and Spring.

I also made 30+ Seed Packets that hold a Ghirardelli chocolate.

There are about 25 folder pouches that hold 2 Ghirardelli chocolates.

I am also taking all of the cards I have in stock for sale.
I have no idea how many...A LOT!!!

I also want to send out a BIG Thank You to my AWESOME friends who helped me in dozens of tasks that made all of this work possible.
Without their help. I could have never completed the number of items I have for sale!
Most of you know I donate all of the money to Water Charities in Africa for clean water projects!

So...I have not been participating in many MIM's or Blog Hops.
I am looking forward to the festivities for the upcoming PTI 9th Anniversary!
