Make It Monday #119: Flagged Borders

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a flagged border.

You know if Dawn McVey is doing a Make It Monday I am going to do my best to participate. I have to tell you this challenge was, well, CHALLENGING!!!
Not so easy! And this card maker who struggles with veering off the guidelines of a challenge really struggled with not totally copying Dawns GORGEOUS card!
So here is mine:

I am an avid follower of Pam Wilson's blog Chicks of a Feather
For her "after-the-blog hop" card she used an Edger die. I have all of the dies and love them but haven't used them in a while. Pam inspired me to dig mine out. So, I did!

I was TRYING not to completely copy Dawns card so I used a Hawaiian Shores panel behind my flags. I also used Photo Finishers die and the Everyday stamps.
Beautiful Blooms Patterned Paper was my choice for the flags.

I did not use the Tag Sale die Dawn used (not to do EVERYTHING she did) and I added the CUTE little arrow from Sketched shapes. The Pure Poppy one turned down, the Simply Chartreuse one pointing up!

I am happy with how my card turned out. It is raining here in Kansas and very dark. I have a good light box but I feel like these pictures are washed out a bit. Oh well, I still struggle with my camera. We don't have a great relationship!

Thank you for looking at my blog!

  1. I like the edger dies for the fun edge.

  2. Love it! Very vibrant and colorful. I think I may have to try this one myself. Maybe in purples? HA!

  3. Great job - love the pops of red against Hawaiian Shores!

  4. Oh how pretty these patterns go together, Susan. The red looks fabulous on Hawaiian Shores! Love your border edge too :)

  5. Lovely card! I like the reds and Hawaiian shore CS combo.

  6. That patterned paper is beautiful! Love the Hawaiian Shores with the red, such a great color combo!

  7. Well my friend, I am happy that I inspired you to pull out your edger dies because you made a fabulous card! I love the fun patterns of all your little flags. I haven't done a card for the MIM yet, but maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow.
