JUNE 2015 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

Blog-hop-logo

Blog hop inspiration

The simplicity of these gray stripes paired with cream and orange flowers just speaks volumes in regards to card inspiration.  Take these colors and transform them into a classic card that captures the beauty of the photo.  Experiment with stamped flowers or die-cut florals.  Add stripes using delicate Sheer Basics striped vellum overlays or cover plates.  Let the photograph speak to you and see where it takes you!

Originally I thought I would use vellum...
I decided to use embossing paste instead!

I used my new Bloomers set!
As I was snipping the dies apart, one went airborne.
I got on my hands and knees to no avail...
Hopefully it will show up...

Once again my literal nature came out for a inspiration photo!
I cannot seem to help it!

MAKE IT MONDAY #215: BRINGING THE INSIDE OUT

Mim card

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and the inside embellishments showing on the outside of the card.

I cannot get enough of Guiding Lights!
I LOVE, LOVE it!

My poor photography skills really came out taking these pictures.

Hopefully you can tell the lighthouse is on the inside of the card.
I used Sentiment Splits for my land and sea!

Here you can totally tell, but it is not a good picture!

Not really any better...

Guiding Lights

Today was a difficult day for the boys and me.
We have gotten through it, but it was sad.

I spent some time with my new stamps.
I think these will be awesome for cards to sell in the church bookstore.

I should have taken a picture of each individually.

I didn't buy the Waves cover plate. I bought Good Times instead!
So, I used the bottom part of Sentiment Splits die.

It worked pretty well for the water and land.

I need to make more using Light of Life stamps.

I am crazy about these cards.
Al would have LOVED them!

MAKE IT MONDAY #214: STAMPING WITH NEUTRALS

DSC_6316.1

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and stamping with neutrals.

We all have our strengths! Stamping backgrounds is not mine!
I am a whiz with patterned paper,
I can make a great card with a less then great piece of paper, ask Pat!

I struggled with this. My Soft stone dried a bit splotchy...
When I tried to stamp-off with Dark Chocolate, I got really lousy images...
So, I had to use Fine Linen and Dawn is right. It is not the right tone with Soft Stone!

Oh, well! I hadn't used Ruby Rose for a while, so I am happy with the flowers!

Yep! Give me a piece of patterned paper.
I could have made 5 cards in the time it took to fiddle with this background!

Wedding Card

My middle son, Brandon needed a wedding card for tomorrow.
At least he didn't wait until tomorrow to ask for it...

I started with my tried and true combo, Filigree Border Die and Life is Beautiful butterfly.
It works. I have always used  Mat Stack 6 but I decided to use Center Style: Feminine.
GREAT choice!

I have some awesome shimmer paper I got a Michael's. It is both gold and silver.
PERFECT for a wedding card.

I cut the cream card stock with the Center Style die.

I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder and Beautiful Butterflies wedding stamp.

I like the card, a LOT.
Brandon did, too!
I told him he owed me $6.00
Don't you think that card would have been $6.00 at Hallmark?

MAKE IT MONDAY #213: COOL CONDENSATION EFFECTS

Condensation

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a condensation effect.

Yep! Betsy is a stamping Genius!!!
Papertrey Ink has all of the stamping genius's...

What a fun technique!

I don't have the Friendship Jar set. I like it, I just never bought it.
But...being the mother of 3 young adult sons, I did buy the Craft Brew set!

I LOVE it!

I had already made a couple of cards like this one. based on Maile's card HERE .

So I added Betsy's amazing technique along with Dawn's AWESOME Center Style: Masculine die cut!

I also used Bitty Dot Vellum from Papertrey!
It is subtle, but it looks a bit foamy...

Super duper fun technique!

Cards like this one will be a BIG hit with the younger crowd!
