Make It Monday #83: Card Aisle Inspiration

I totally CHEATED this challenge!!! I haven't been in a Hallmark store in YEARS! And, I didn't have time to go this week. I am leaving tomorrow to go the Charleston for week with my husband and then to NYC for his annual heart tests, so..... no time. I got my inspiration where I always do. PTI design team blogs and other blogs I follow, mostly other PTI lovers!

My last card, which always comes up first because I am to dingy to remember to post the first card last! Does that make sense? Probably only to me! And I still wish I knew how to post more than one card on Linkz from one post!!!
Anyway, here is my second take on my "shopping trip" on Dawn McVey's blog!

Don't you just LOVE the layout of this card?
Thank you for looking at my blog!

Make It Monday #83: Card Aisle Inspiration ~ Card #3

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card! I made me smile the first time I saw it. Scroll on down to the last post for this challenge and read about my reasoning for my choice!

My take:

For some reason the buttons and bling (for you, Pam!) came out REALLY dark. In real life, they are Hawaiian Shores, like the flower!

Make It Monday #83: Card Aisle Inspiration ~ Card 2

I wish I could get my brain to function when I post more than one card for a challenge! I always forget to post the "first" one last. I tell my story of this challenge on the last post for this week!
Here is my inspiration from Dawn:

I REALLY love this card, too! I needed that sentiment to make it perfect but, alas, I'll get the stamp, soon!

No Dawn McVey but still an AWESOME layout and a PRETTY card!

More Treat Holders

These are the treat holders, like the ones I posted for the Mr. Bones challenge, that I will be selling. These use some old Stampin Up paper Rockabilly. When I first saw that paper I thought it was the cutest paper I had ever seen. It is all double sided, nice paper. However, it is not as thick as PTI, and of course, not as cute. I do want you to know I bought it for the reverse side of the skull and crossbones!

I had read several years ago on a blog or something to NOT hoard paper. Your tastes change, styles go out of favor and the like. I thought it was good advice, though not always easy to follow. I do attempt to follow that advice, but.... This paper is a prime example. I don't love it anymore, but I bought more than one package, and you know it wasn't cheap! So, it was a total DELIGHT to me that I had a PERFECT use for part of it!

The red isn't as Halloween'y as the black & green, but it is an orange-red, so it works. These treat holders are REALLY cute. I have 25 of them made up and about 25 parts and pieces cut out. I found some black and orange chevron Washi tape that I am going to try on the top of the Half & Half die ~ it might be cute!
I just wanted you to see the ones I will be selling.

Mr. Bones' Halloween Spook Out ~ 2nd project

During the August PTI Release Danielle Flanders posted THIS POST . I LOVED it. You know I make and sell cards and such for missions for my church. I am always on the lookout for cute, sellable things to raise money. I felt that this Treat Holder fit the bill. Easy to make and VERY cute.

I used the Seed Packet die, Limitless Layers, a Cricut Spider web and spider. The "card" is a Half & Half die in white. I stamped the bracket image from the coordinating stamp set on the top. The sentiment is a Martha Stewart stamp. I love how it gives you a place to write a message and also hides the candy bar (Hershey Bar), but you still can see it! I explain in  my next post how it distresses me to use non PTI supplies in a challenge, but.....
The paper is Autumn Abundance. When I first got the Seed Packet die I had trouble with it. It cut the score lines. I figured out if I remove the thinnest shim from my Vagabond it quit doing that. So, if you have trouble cutting with your dies that make scores, take a look at reducing the thickness on your machine.
I will be making a LOT of these adorable little treats! I am sure they will sell.

Mr. Bones' Halloween Spook Out

I normally use all PTI supplies when I post on a challenge. It is kind of my foible. I think I have shared this before, but all rules are made to be broken, right? I LOVE the PTI Spider Web dies but I have a Cricut cartridge (Paper Doll Dress UP) that will cut them, so I did not order the die :( I also cut the spider with the cartridge. I nearly had to blow dust off my Cricut, I so rarely use it ;) The card base is 4 1/4x5 1/2" white card stock. The front panel is 4 1/8x5 3/8" black card stock. I used two 2x4" strips of Autumn Abundance, scraps from the previous post. Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" Circle Die was used to cut black card stock and white for the center. I used a 3 1/4" Spider web and spider. The sentiment is on 1/2 of a Fillable Frame #11 and the sentiment if from a Martha Stewart stamp set.
VERY simple card.
