MAKE IT MONDAY #218: WATERCOLORS WITH DIE CUT STENCILS

Diecutstencilcelebrate1

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and watercolor with a die cut stencil.

This was a challenging challenge! I used a Zig 2-way glue pen and allowed it to dry, making it
re-positionable.
Didn't work great...
I also wish I had made a panel and adhered it to my card front.
It is warped...

I am seriously crazy about my water colored Vintage Linen flower, tho!
This is a la Dawn! VERY inspirational!
Have you seen hers on Instagram?
GORGEOUS!!!

JULY 2015 BLOG HOP

Blog-hop-logo

Blog hop inspiration

Butterflies never go out of style!  Now is your chance to get out some of your favorite butterfly products as put them to work creating a beautiful piece of art inspired by this month's inspiration piece.  Use the colors, the layout, the touches of gilded gold, the distressed wall as a jumping point for your next creation.  We can hardly wait to see your stunning results!

I used the inspiration photo and a card I just made.
This card was made with a piece of scrap paper.

Here is my card made to more closely mimic the inspiration photo.

When I made the blue card, I LOVED it, so I knew I wanted to make more of the design.

CREATE ALONG WITH US: JULY 2015

CREATE ALONG WITH US: JULY 2015

What a FUN new concept from PTI!!!!

We are wowed every day during a release countdown.
I Pinned a ton of card this week but this one REALLY caught my eye...

DSC_6453.1

It was just one of many to choose from!

Here is my take:

I thought I would use Bloomers before it gets kicked to the curb in place of Vintage Linen
I can see it coming!

I LOVE this color combo.
I made mine vertical instead of horizontal...
Because I like it better...

Thanks Nichole for another option for us to participate in all of the fun!!!

Thank you fro looking at my blog!

MAKE IT MONDAY #217: CREATING YOUR OWN CUSTOM BORDERS

IMG_1406

--Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a custom stamped border.

I LOVE Dawns Center Style so much, I decided it would make a great custom stamped border.
It did!!!

I cut 2 of the "accent dies" (I had to go back and see what she called them!) and stamped them in Berry Sorbet.

I centered them on my panel. They were a bit long. If my panel and been the full length of the card front they would have fit perfectly.

The flower is from PTI.
They are Maya Road and it doesn't look like they are in stock anymore.
Must have discontinued them when they cleaned out the warehouse.

Actually, pretty happy with this one.

What I have been working on...

My church has a ladies conference called Inspired for Life.

I was asked to make 100 Thank you cards for the organizers to use.
I am behind on this order. It has taken me a while to get back to a creative mindset.
The top 2 pictures are samples I made for them.

I think Guiding Lights will be one they will LOVE!

If you click on the pictures, you can see them better.
You probably already know that!

The 2 Birthday cards are ones I have been working on as masculine.
the top one is a scrap of a Scrapbook acetate overlay.
The candle flame is cut from yellow glitter paper.
Can you see it?

I really like the one above using a piece of burlap.
In my opinion, VERY masculine!

MAKE IT MONDAY #216: ADDING COLOR TO COVER PLATES

MIM Card 2

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and color added to a Cover Plate die cut.

I made 2 cards for this challenge. I couldn't decide which one to post so I was going to let Pat choose! She and my Mother chose the Quatrefoil one.
In the meantime Colin came home. I had him look, he chose the top, Floral Flaps one!
So, I broke the tie. I had made the Quatrefoil one first but saw others used it before I got mine posted. that is when I made the Floral Flaps one.
Which one do you like best?

For the first one, I used Floral Flaps Die. I didn't buy this die.
I REFUSE to make square cards. I refuse to pay extra postage and I refuse to put a warning on the cards I sell!

Pat bought it and gave one of the dies to me!
Seriously, you don't need 4 of them, right?
I colored the outside and the "leaves" with Limeade Ice and a watercolor brush.
The flower are colored with Berry Sorbet!

On this on I used the Quatrefoil Cover Plate.
It was water colored with Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet.

Oh, LOVE the new Bloomers from Dawn McVey!
LOVE!

The leaves are one of the centers stamped with Limeade Ice and cut in half.

Light of the World card

In the past few weeks, the Design Team has shared a wonderful trio of exciting video tutorials. Betsy showed us how to add realistic condensation details to our projects using Glossy Accents, Dawn amazed us with the power of neutrals, and Danielle inspired us to bring the inside out with her window tutorial. Nancy, Jennifer, and Susan played along this month's weekly challenges. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity, Ladies!
