These are the cards and box that I talk about in my next post.  I will remake the cards, have better pictures and give instructions for each card.  They are all really great cards, the photos don't do them justice.
Thanks for looking at my blog.  I will return after Thanksgiving!
Susan
I have not posted in a couple of weeks.  Our dear friend Gary is visiting us for Thanksgiving.  Gary was Al's landlord in New York but he became our friend.  We all miss him terribly.  Al was happy to leave NYC but I LOVED the city because I could come back to Kansas.  Anyway, I have been decorating the house for Christmas, so I have been really busy.  The cards that precede this post are from a box that a friend asked me to make for her friend.  The pictures were not taken by Colin :( so the quality is not good.  I will probably remake all of them and re-post with instructions.  This post is really for my benefit, so I can remember what the cards look like!

This card has a base of 5x7 white cardstock.  The paper is Stampin Up Rockabilly.  Both pieces of the patterened paper are cut at 2 3/4x6 3/4.  A strip of Stampin Up Kiwi Kiss is cut with Papertrey Ink Lace Border die and adhered to the seam, vertically.  A piece of dotted Rockabilly paper was cut with PTI Mat Stack 4 and layered with PTI Fillable Frame 4.  The Hero Arts sentiment was stamped with Stampin UP Kiwi Kiss ink.  That piece was adhered to the bottom of the card with pop dots.  A "scrunch flower" was made with dark red cardstock and a WalMart pearl.  Simple layout with pretty paper.

I have posted this exact card layout before, but this one is softer and I think really pretty.  It is Basic Grey Capella paper.  The card base is 5x7 white cardstock.  The patterned paper is cut at 4 3/4 x 6 and the solid is 4 3/4 x 1 1/2.  A strip of the solid was die cut with Papertrey Ink Lace border die, and glued at the seam.  PTI Mat Stack I was used to cut the solid mat and a white oval is stamped with a Hero Arts image in Stampin Up Basic Grey.  A "scrunch flower" made with vintage book print and a green pearl is at the top.  2 clear-ish buttons are threaded with button twine and placed on either side of the mat. A 1x4 3/4" strip of the solid paper is adhered to the center of the card.  A simple card.  This layout is one I use over and over.

Adhesive

One of the blogs I frequent is Obsessed with Scrapbooking.  Joy is awesome!  She is "plugged-into" Provo Craft and gets cartridges and info ahead of time.  Lots of great techniques are shown on her blog.  She posted one today on adhesives, Here .  If I had written this article, it would have been the same, with one exception.   I get my refills for my ATG gun at The Tape Depot, Here  The refill I get is ATG-7502, and it is a lot cheaper then at the store or Amazon.  I bought a case so I won't be buying for a while, I hope!   I LOVE my ATG gun.  It does not get lost on your workspace.  The Scotch quick dry is also awesome.  I have used it for years.  Finally, I rarely make a card without using some form of pop dots.  They ROCK!  There is nothing more boring than a flat, one-dimensional card.
If you struggle at all with adhesives, I hope this will help

This was a fun card to make.  The picture does not do it justice (don't tell Colin ;) !)  The base is 5x7 white cardstock.  I trimmed 1 1/4 off the front right edge.  I adhered a 1x6 3/4 strip of the circle paper on the back right edge.  For the front I took a piece of white cardstock  3 3/4x3 1/2 and ran it through a Cuttlebug folder Dot's and Spots.  A piece of the circle paper was cut to the same size was adhered to the white piece.  The dotted ribbon, Hobby Lobby, was tied  in a knot around the seam.  The adorable Bird Cage is a Cricut cut, From the Nest.  It is cut at 2 1/2" and is adhered with pop dots.  The circle paper is American Crafts.  I love how all of the elements coordinate.  It is all dotted or circles!

I have posted a card very much like this one before.  But I had to post this one becaues my sweet 16 year old son, Colin, who take most of my pictures, took this one, and I think it is an awesome picture.  My husband bought a new camers for each others 24th Anniversary.  He thought I needed a better camera for my pictures for my blog.  The base is 4 1/ x5 1/2 white cardstock.  The mat is 4x5 1/4 from a DCWV paper stack.  The cream PTI spiral notebook page is stamped in Dark Chocolate ink with the PTI Its Official order ticket.  It is layered with a manila shipping tag, a piece of cork paper stamped with PTI Dark Chocolate ink using Its Official Bingo card stamp, an old playplace ticket with a vintage felt flower from PTI Beautiful Blooms II die.  A minature yellow clothespin is clipped to the tag.  The card is simple, but interesting.  Colin says he doesn't see what all of the items have in common!  Boys!  They just don't get it!  But he does take great pictures!  Don't 'ya think!!

This card is 5x7 white cardstock base.  The patterned paper is from Me &My Big Ideas, Journey stack.  It is cut at 4 3/4x 6 3/4.  A piece of rustic cream Papertrey Ink cardstock was cut with spiral notebook page die and stamped the Order Ticket with Dark Chocolate PTI.  I took a piece of cork "paper" and stamped the PTI Bingo card from It's Official.  I also used Dark Chocolate ink and cut it out.  Finally cream card stock was cut with Just the Ticket border punch and stamped with the Admit One Ticket.  All of these embellishments were stacked, wrapped with button twine and adhered with pop dots.  Cute, huh?  Finally, I took PTI Mat Stack I and cut the paper in an area that has the No. print and layered it with pop dots.  Oh, I stamped Get Well Soon at the top of the notebook paper piece with Dark Chocolate.  This Me and My Big Ideas paper is soooo cute!

Ok!  This is one of my favorite cards that I have made.  The base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white cardstock.  The patterned paper mat is 4x 5 1/4.  The green cardstock mat is Stampin Up Kiwi Kiss cut at 2x4 and has a 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 piece of book print from a vintage book layered on it.  The flower is made from a 2"scallop circle punch.  I cut 5 circles and folded 4 of them and adhered them on top of the 5th circle.  A pink and a smaller cream button were threaded with black button twine and adhered to the center of the flower.  A small brass lady bug was adhered with a pop dot.  The Kiwi Kiss ticket was cut with Cricut Wall Decor and More at 2" and is layered on pop dots.  I LOVE that ticket.  They are such a hot embellishment right now and this one is just a little different.

This card has 5x7 white cardstock as a base.  The 4 3/4 x 6  and 4 3/4 x 1 1/2 pieces of Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper have a strip of the paper cut with PTI lace border die adhered at the seam.  A strip of paper 4 3/4 x 1 1/4 is adhered across the center and a piece of the same pattern is cut with PTI Mat Stack I.  A white oval is stamped with PTI Raspberry Fizz ink.  2 Raspberry Fizz buttons are threaded with button twine and glued on either side.  A Hot Pink "scrunch" flower with a pink pearl is added to the top.
The colors are really pretty on this Cosmo Cricket paper.

This card is similat to one I posted in the past, but different!  The base is 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock.  A 4x2 3/4 piece of Papertrey Ink GreenTea Leaves is adhered to a piece the same size of PTI Dark Chocolate Cardstock.  A PTI New Leaf strip of cardstock was cut with PTI Eyelet border and adhered at the seam.  I bought a stack of Basic Grey Basic White paper.  The cover sheet was a montage of all of the patterens.  I took it and my PTI Spiral Notebook page die and cut the main embellishment.  The ticket layered on top of that is "semi-vintage".  It is an old ticket from a playplace my kids used to go to when they were little, so about 15+ years old.  Vintage in my books!  I layered a "vintage felt flower cut with PTI Beautiful Blooms II and sewn on with a small pearl.  I wraped several turns of button twin aroun the page and adhered it with pop dots.  The Stampin Up sentiment was stamped on white cardstock cut with PTI Fillable Frames 4.

This is a simple, cute card.  The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white cardstock.  A 4x5 1/4 red mat has a 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of handmade paper adhered to a grid note card cut to the same size.  Both pieces of paper had the edges swiped with tea dye ink.  A piece of red ribbon wans tied in a knot and adhered at the seam.  A scrunch flower was made with the handmade paper.  You cannot see it very well, but drops of glassy accents were put all over the flower and it was coated with Diamond Dust (crushed glass).  A WalMart pearl was put in the center of the flower.  A strip of white cardstock was stamped with a Hero Arts birthday sentiment stamped in Pure Poppy Papertrey Ink, ink!  It too was edged with tea dye And mounted on pop dots.  Look closely too see the diamond dust it is really pretty.

This is a very simple card.  The card base is white cardstock cut at 4 1/4x5 1/2.  A piece of pink check paper cut at 4 1/8x 5 1/4 is the mat.  A pink ribbon was tied in a knot befor the mat was adhered to the base.  The 4" flower is a Cricut cut from Cindy Loo.  There are lots of layers but it is easy to assemble.  Cindy Loo has several great images.  This card is on my display board for my Cricut Demonstrations.

Here are 2 tags I made with Wrinkle Ribbon.  The next post contains abreviated instructions on how to make it.  Ask if you have questions.  The top pink tag is a scrap of paper from my scrap drawer.  A pink ticket cut with PTI ticket border die and stamped with a stamp from Just the Ticket.  I used a Hot pink felt flower from my stash.  I have a LARGE selection of brass charms I have collected over the years and I am trying to use them instead of "saving" them!  The wrinkle ribbon is on the end attached with a small pink clothes pin.
The bottom one is also made from a scrap from my scrap drawer.  I stamped Simply Chartreuse ink on blue paper to make the Bingo card, PTI, a ticket from the same paper and ink and the flower is American Crafts from the Greenhouse collection.  There are a couple of bits of blue lace border die cuts, too.  It is finished with green Wrinkle Ribbon.
Thanks for looking at my blog!!
This card is to show one of the current "Hot" craft supplies, "Wrinkle Ribbon",  It is made with Hug Snug rayon seam binding.  You wet it with some sort of dye, Glimmer Mist works well, ball it up and let it dry.  It is really fun for tags.  My Sister, Pat wanted me to make a card.  This one won't win a prize for my best work!  It is with a brand new stamp set I just got from Papertrey Ink , Everyday Treats.  The paper is Dark Chocolate PTI cardstock and Bitty Dots from PTI as well.  The flower is a Prima I Glimmer Misted.  I used PTI Mat Stack 4.  LOVE that die!  I will also post a tag which will show off the Wrinkle Ribbon a little more.

This is a fun card!  The base is 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock. I layered a piece of We R Memory Keepers paper cut at 4x5 1/4.  Mounted on pop dots is a piece of orange cardstock cut with Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook page, here .  It was stamped with the Order Ticket stamp from It's Official, here , in Dark Chocolate PTI ink.  On top of that is a ticket made of cream cardstock and stamped in Dark Chocolate.  The die is from PTI and the stamp is from Just the Ticket.  The ticket is attached wioth a spiral paperclip from my stash and the whole embellishment is wraped with button twine!  The card is VERY bright and cheery!

This card is has a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white cardstock base.  The green background mat is Stampin Up Kiwi Kiss cut at 4x5 1/4.  The print cardstock is K & Co Poppyseed.  The 4 x 1 3/4 greem leaf piece was cut with a
Sizzix On the Edge Die: Brackets, by Tim Holtz.  A 4 1/4x3 1/2 piece of stripe paper was layered under the left edge.  A second piece of the green leaf print was cut 1 1/2x 2 1/4 and mounted on pop dots.  A piece of white satin ribbon was pleated on the top using my ATG gun tape.  A creamy button was threaded with button twine and secured with a glue dot.  A small strip of white cardstock was stamped with a Papertrey Ink stamp and attached on the top of that paper.

This card was made almost entirely with a K & Co. embellishment pack.  The card base is 5x7 white cardstock.  The patterened paper is also K & Co.  The 2 flowers are cream vintage felt and cut with Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II 1 & 3 dies finished with small brads in the center.  The tag has Happy Birthday stamped on it (you cannot see it in this picture).

This is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.  2 patterns of green and white paper were used.  The solid green Rick Rack was cut with the Easter Cricut cartridge.  The same solid green Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 has a white oval stamped with a Hero Arts sentiment.  Lastly I made a "grunge" flower with the small plaid paper.  I used the 5 petal flower from George and Basic shapes cut in 2 sizes, sprayed with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.  I scrunched it all up and put a clear jewel brad in the center.
Thanks for looking at my blog!

This is another masculine card.  The same brown paper I used before, an old DCWV stack.  The card base is 5x7.  The sailboat was cut with Wall Decor and More Cricut cartridge.  It was cut with white cardstock and sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mist.  It gives it that cool two tone look.  Sort of creamy brown but when you turn it, it has a violet cast.  The second thing it did was kinda warp the paper.  I did not try and flatten it because it gives it a 3D look.  The sails almost look like they have the wind in them.  I LOVE that.  I did not spray heavy and I blotted a lot of the mist off.  It is popped off the card with pop dots!

Friday, September 3, 2010

This card is made with almost all handmade paper.  The base is 5x7 white cardstock.  The black mat is
4 3/4 x 6 3/4 black handmade paper. White handmade paper is cut with Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 and layered with the black paper and trimed in the shape of the mat stack.  The sentiment was stamped in PTI black ink.  The same white paper was cut with PTI Large Scallop Border.  It is 2 x 4 3/4.  A strip of the black paper was cut with the PTI Eyelet Lace border die.  A flower was made with the black paper.  Those instructions can be found on Dawn McVeys blog My Favorite Things.  The little pearl spray is from Dollar Tree, in the wedding supplies.
I think this is perfect for a classy "Over the Hill" type card.  Very simple.  The picture does not do justice to the pretty paper.
Thanks for looking at my blog!!

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

This card is one that has focus on the beautiful printed paper.  The 5x7 white cardstock base is covered with  paper cut so it is best showcased.  White cardstock is cut with Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II dies.  2 large, 1 medium and 1 small flower are sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow
Mist , Lindys .  It looks brown but when tilted it is a violet color, really pretty. All 4 blossoms are stacked,  adhered and finished with one brown and one violet button tied with button twine.  The Mat Stack 1 is also lightly sprayed with the same mist.  A vintage cream oval is stacked on top and the Hero Arts sentiment is stamped in Dark Chocolate PTI ink.
Thanks for looking at my blog!

Monday, August 30, 2010

This card is the compliment to the card posted below.  The only difference is a handmade flower that is like one used on a card  previously posted.  It is from a tutorial from Dawn McVey's blog My Favorite Things, a Superstar designer from Papertrey Ink.
Thanks for looking!
This is a simple card I made focusing on the paper.  It is a DCWV Stack.  The base is 5x7, white cardstock.  I layered the patterened paper, cut Navy blue cardstock with Mat Stack 1 Papertrey Ink die.  A White oval is on that mat Stack and stamped with a Stampin Up sentiment in Pure Poppy PTI ink.  That is all there is to it, super simple.  I will post a matching thank you as well. It will of course precede this post but the process is the same.  It is just the other part of the 12x12 sheet that did not have as much pattern on it.
Thanks for looking at my blog!!

Sunday, August 29, 2010

This card is made with Cosmo Criket Joy Ride 6x6 Stack.  The base is 5x7 white cardstock.  A strip of Papertrey Ink Orange Zest 1 1/4 has a PTI Mat Stack 1, also in Orange Zest, layered with Vintage Cream cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped in Orange Zest ink.  The bottom border is Orange Zest cardstock cut with PTI Eyelet Lace die.  2 orange buttons are threaded with button twine.  The flower at the top of the card is one I made with instrucions from Dawn McVey's blog MY Favorite Things.  And it is trrue, it is my favorite blog.  I LOVE her cards and pictures and her whole family.  Her blog rocks and she is from Olathe, Kansas!  Not far from Overland Park!  Anyway, back to my flower, it is pages from a "vintage" book cut with a 2" Scallop Circle punch.  You cut 5 and squish 4 of them up, stack them together, glue them and glue a glass pearl from Walmart on top.  LOVE it!  I use it a lot.  Search Dawn's blog for a video on how to make it.
Thanks for looking at my blog!!

Saturday, August 28, 2010

This card was a "step out" for me. I am not very Victorian.  I bought some vintage sheet mucic and cut a piece 4x6 to go on a 5x7 card.  A manila shipping tag was layered with several elements.  A piece of vintage lace is on the bottom.  Next, a piece of cream vintage felt was cut with Papertrey Ink Fillable Frames 3.  I layered a little lace medallion that was in my Mothers old craft box.  On top of that is a Ticket cut from Wall Decor and More Cricut cartridge.  Behind the ticket is a piece of graph paper stained with brown ink. The top of the tag is a piece of cream felt cut with Eyelet Lace die from of course, Papertrey Ink!  Finally, the flower on the upper left is vintage cream felt cut with Beautiful Blooms 3 PTI and sewn together with a pink button.  I made a Stick Pin with a corsage pin from Michaels with a gold long bead, a small pearl and one clear seed bead.  LOVE that Stick Pin.  So easy and very inexpensive to make! Oh, the tag was topped off with a length of a creamy white fiber.
Thanks for looking at my blog!!

This card is made with Papertrey Ink Green Tea Leaves patterned paper and Dark Chocolate solid cardstock.  The base is 5x7 white cardstock.  I cut a piece of Vintage Cream with the Spiral Notebook Page die.  That was stamped that with Order Ticket from It's Official.  The Get Well Soon sentiment is from hero Arts.  I also cut a ticket with the Just the Ticket border die and stamped it with the Admit One from It's Official.  Both of those were stamped with Dark Chocolate PTI ink.  I took a piece of thin cork and stamped the Bingo Card from It's Official In Dark Chocolate and cut it out.  I stacked the three elements and tied some tan embroidery floss around them.  They were all attached to the card with pop dots.  The Vintage Cream Get Well Soon Die cut is from Beyond Birthdays.
Thanks for looking at my blog.

Another masculine card, do you think?  The paper is a old DCWV paper stack.  I used old reliable Mat Stack 1 PTI die and the oval for the Hero Arts sentiment stamped in Dark Chocolate PTI ink.  The Eyelet lace PTI die was cut with vintage felt that I sprayed with Suede Glimmer Mist.  The tickets are PTI Just the Ticket border, stamped with PTI It's Official in Dark Chocolate.  Don't you just love those tickets? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Papertrey Ink!
This card is made with Cosmo Cricket.  I used a Tim Holtz ticket, and I had a brass charm that I dotted the i with.  The PTI Mat Stack 1 is once again my border for my Stampin Up sentiment stamped in Dark Chocolate PTI ink.  The Eylet Lace border is also PTI.  My idea on this card ws to be masculine.  What do you think? Did I pull it off?
I like this one too, VERY similar.  From the same paper stack, and the same PTI Mat Stack 1 die.  This one uses a different PTI flower die but the same vintage felt. I used a button for the center of the flower.  I put the Stampin Up sentiment up near the top so it wouldn't cover up the flower image on the paper which I wanted to be the focal point of the card.
This card was made with a K& Co Stack.  I used a Papertrey Ink flower die and vintage felt to make the flower.  The center was made with gold seed beads. The sentament is a Hero Arts cling stamp with Pure Poppy PTI ink on a Vintage Cream oval cut with George and Basic Shapes.  The mat is Mat Stack 1 die.  I am so loving everything Papertrey Ink, especially their dies.  So versatlie because you can cut  felt which is my current favorite medium!

I made this Mini Album for my Mother, Donna Whitley for Mothers Day.  I had so much fun. The tag was cut from Sweethearts at 5 1/2".  The paper was an old stack I had.  I think it is Brenda Walton.  There were embelishments with that stack, like the bird and one of the butterflies. The Birdcage was from Straight From the Nest.  The front of the tag has some Prima flowers and clay flowers from Michaels.  Most of the words are from the Stamping cartridge and Mothers was cut with a sizzlet set.  There are also some Jolees embelishments.  The metal butterfly is Making Memories.

This sailboat card is from Just Because Cards.  The background lake is the egg from the cartridge that I ran through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  The Just For You is from Stamping.  Have I said how much I LOVE Stamping.  It is one of the most versatile cartridges in my collection.  I use it all of the time.  Great words and phrases and cute images.  This one I think works for a masculine card.
Thanks for looking!
This is a SIMPLE card made with Just Because Cards.  I am not a very whimsical, or punny person, so a lot of the images on the cartridge are not my style.  However, there is enough to make me happy I have the cartridge.  I LOVE the mat behind this adorable ice cream sundae!  I LOVE the cherry button on top! I cut that mat in white and ivory to use for sentiments on the front of other cards.  You will see it in the future.

Lastly, this tag was featured as well on the Above Rubies Studio DVD.  The tag was cut at 5 1/2" from Sweet Treats.  The Cupcake is from Gypsy Wanderings and the Happy Birthday is from Stamping.  The stripe and star paper are from American Crafts.
Thanks for looking!
This card was also featured on Above Rubies Studio DVD.  I think it is so pretty.  The image is also from Gypsy Wanderings, both the border and the flower.  The stripe paper is from the Orchid SEI stack.  The sentiment is Hero Arts.
Thank you for looking!
All three of these cards were published on Above Rubies Studio Gypsy A to Z DVD!  What an honor!  They were all made with Gypsy Wanderings cartridge.  The images on the cartridge do not have layers so I needed to cut each one 3 times and cut it apart ot get the 3 colors.  The card with the dark blue stripe has Cuttlubug D'vine swirls as the water.  On all, 3 I used Fiskars Sentimental Scallop edge punch to top the bottom layer.  The sentiment on the 2 that have one are Hero Arts.
Thanks for looking!
