Make It Monday #68: Pocket Cards ~1

I thought with Fathers Day coming up a Fathers Day pocket would be useful. I LOVE Fine Linen card stock. It is a great neutral, good for a masculine card, however I would use this for anyone. This pocket is 5 1/2x8 1/2 folded in half. I cut 1 1/2" off the front flap and Zigzagged the edges. I took the Chevron dies and white card stock. I found an interesting little trick. I had butted the 2 dies next to each other to save paper. By doing that, it cut a very skinny little border! WooHoo! A freebie! I love the extra texture by having a 3rd size. I layered those cuts on the front of the pocket and for the bottom of the card I did the same with Fine Linen. I used Fillable Frames #1 die and white card stock stamped in Fine Linen. The pocket sentiment is from Fillable Frames #4 in Dark Chocolate ink. The sentiment on the top of the card is from Signature Series: Flower Mini Stamp Set in Dark Chocolate.
I will make more of this card. I REALLY like it!

Make It Monday #68: Pocket Cards ~ 2

Another fun challenge. Make a pocket card. I make a lot of pocket pouches for Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. You have seen my posts on my blog in the last year. Theses were fun to make. This post uses a vertical pocket, the previous post is horizontal. I used Hibiscus Burst paper cut to 4 1/4x11". Heather Nichols trimmed 1 1/2" off the front flap, so did I. AND...... drum roll ~ I finally used some Washi tape I bought at Target. That was thanks to a tip from Dawn McVey. 4 rolls for $4! I had not been inspired to use it on any of my cards but I finally saw a perfect spot. Michelle Wooderson had said in her blog some people don't like the ripped edge and maybe I am one of them. I put my roll in an old tape dispenser and I like the look, you could also just cut it. I cut a Heart Border in Sweet Blush and adhered it to the tape on the top of the pocket. I used Mat Stack 3 and Layerz. The paper is Raspberry Fizz Pattern Pack, Damask, and Sweet Blush. I used Notched Flowers with a button on top. The sentiment on both the pocket and card are from Tagged Sentiments in Raspberry Fizz. The card is 3 1/2x4 3/4. I used to Washi tape on the top edge and I had this perfect little border from cutting the hearts, so I adhered it to the bottom.
I am so THRILLED I was finally able to use my Washi tape. I know EVERY one else and been using it FOREVER!

Scored card

This is a quick and simple card that I put together by just using my score board for the background. I took a piece of 4x5 1/4" card stock. I had this mustard yellow piece in my stash. I really like this color but really don't have ink to match. Put the top left corner of the paper on the 3" mark on the left side of the board and score every 1". Turn the card and repeat on the other side, forming diamonds. To accent the scores, I needed to ink them. I used VersaMark. It really makes them pop but I was not light-handed enough to not get any on the insides of the diamonds ;( I die cut the frame from PTI Celebrations and stamped the frame & sentiment in Scattered Straw Tim Holtz Distress ink. It was the closest ink I had. I used the outline flower from Pretty Peonies and 2 butterfly dies.
Simple, but I think eye-catching!

Make it Monday

Make It Monday #67: Step-it-Up: Mixing Patterned Papers

My Make it Monday card. I used scraps from the following PTI Paper Packs: Damask Designs Patterned Paper, Polka Dot Parade Patterned Paper,  Beautiful Blooms Patterned Paper. The card base it 4 1/4x5 1/2 white card stock. The strips are 4x1 3/4ish. I used the new Chevron border die to cut strips of Hawaiian Shores card stock for the seams. Pretty Peonies stamps and dies were used for the embellishments.
This was a GREAT challenge for me. I would have NEVER used these patterns together, but I like it! I LOVE using scraps. Especially ones like the Damask pack which I LOVE!

This months inspiration is a unique color scheme that has been popping up everywhere this spring.  A bright green (Simply Chartreuse or New Leaf) paired with bold black & white patterns.  Think gingham, argyle, checks or stripes.  Really mix things up and enjoy the creative process! We look forward to seeing your creations today

This is my last card to post but your first to look at. I wish I could post them all together but I cannot figure out how to make that work with inLinkz.
I stamped the background of this card with Rosie Posie. Is this THE most versatile set ever??? I used True Black, New Leaf and Simply Chartreuse, and all three stamps. I took a strip of New Leaf and scored it on my Score Board to look like the new Impression plate. I didn't order it, still thinkin! I used 2 strips of True Black card stock cut with the Chevron dies on either side of the strip. The sentiment is stamped on Pretty Peonies frame in Simply Chartreuse. A couple of Turning a New Leaf, New Leaf springs filled out the card. My other most versatile die!

This card is based on a card by Dawn McVey. The background paper is Bitty Box Basics Patterned Paper from PTI. The envelope the tag fits into is from Michael's. I have a package of Glassine bags from PTI but I could not find them. I like that translucent look but... Do you ever put things away can can't find them? I bet not! The tag is Tag sale #6. I didn't buy it at first, I wasn't sure I loved it but, of course I did! I used the new Chevron dies to cut black card stock for the paper bag. Limitless layers in round and oval. The stamp is Tagged Sentiments, too cute! A jewel from my stash and Seam Binding.
