Another Dawn McVey inspired card!

Here is another Dawn Card.  This one is a 4 1/4x5 1/2 rustic white cardstock.  By that  I mean it has some pinkish fibers running through the paper.  Very subtle.  The elements vary slightly from Dawn's card.  Hers is HERE .  Scroll down to the 2nd card.  I do not own that adorable Giraffe die so I used the tree cut from Wild Card.  I gave the sizing for that HERE .  The Mat is Mat Stack #4.  Have I ever told you how much I LOVE the Mat Stack dies???  Well, if I didn't, I DO!  And to make them even better, PTI is releasing a larger size so you can mat the mats!  AWESOME!  Sorry, I got carried away!  A pink Doily Details with a Berry Sorbet 1 3/4" circle that was stamped in Dark Chocolate ink with Mat Stack I Collection flourish stamp.  Double Ended Banner was used to cut Berry Sorbet cardstock and was stamped with Dark Chocolate ink.  Another flourish for the Mat Stack stamp was used on the bottom of the card front.  All of the elements were adhered with pop dots.
My card is different because I did not use the same supplies but still cute.  You can alter any idea with what you have.

More Dawn McVey inspired cards

Those BEAUTIFUL blue flower cards I posted last week were just one of the cards I copied from Dawns blog.  These are inspired by her as well.  It was actually not a card but a cover for a journal she made.  I am going to try my hand at that, later.  Anyway the post is HERE .  The cards are all the same, just the sentiment changes.  4 1/2x5 1/2 white cardstock.  I used PTI Background Basics HERE and stamped it in Dark Chocolate ink.  A snip of Medium Scallop border in pink was layered with a brown Double Ended Banner cut.  Berry Sorbet cardstock was cut with Doily Details die, and was layered with a brown circle in the center.  The largest butterfly die was used to cut kraft cardstock.  It was run through my paper corrugater.  I swiped it with Fresh Snow ink, just to add contrast.  A button was threaded with button twine and adhered to the butterfly.
The sentiments were all stamped in Dark chocolate ink.  Super simple cards ~ but a pretty design.

Masculine Birthday Cards

Here are a couple of masculine Birthday Cards.  The stamps are from Tim Holtz Curiosities Stamp Set.  The paper is from a Jillibean Soup stack, Spotted Owl, that my sister, *Hi Pat!* gave me.  She had used a lot of it in a class she took.  I got several sheets and a LOT of scraps.  I have made a LOT of cards with those scraps.  This yellow/brown paper, to me, looks masculine.  The card bases are 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock.  The top one is just a piece of the patterned scrap that I layered on top of a brown 4x5 3/8 panel.  I took yellow carsdtock & cut it with PTI Tag Sale #4 die.  That was stamped with Dark Chocolate ink & one of the Tim Holtz stamps.  The same yellow paper was stamped with the ruler stamp.  I used cream cardstock to stamp the clock & ad stamp.  The second card uses brown cardstock cut with PTI Edger #3.  I trimmed off the right edge, flattening the curve.  I was just looking for something a little different.  PTI Spiral Notebook die was used to cut yellow cardstock.  It was stamped with the same Tim Holtz stamp.  The other elements were all stamped on yellow cardstock on this one.  Most of the elements are mounted on pop dots on both cards.
This stamp set just screams masculine to me, that is why I bought it.  I have been showing a lot of cards where I use scraps.  I have some more of the red Jillibean Soup scrap cards I will post, soon.  I LOVE that paper!

Mellow Yellow

These cards are almost identical to the last post.  4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock.  The paper is DCWV.  PTI Edger #3, Fillable Frames #10, and PTI butterfly dies.  Hand dyed seam binding and Michael's Recollections pearls.  I also used Delightful Dahlia stamp to stamp "feathers" on the butterfly.  I think that adds a lot.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Edited

This is a quick post so I can submit this card to Papertrey Inks Blog Hop.  I will give directions tomorrow.  I almost forgot about it.  Be sure an scroll down and see the cards I posted earlier.  They are so pretty!
OK!  Now I will give you directions on this side-fold 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock card.  First I ran the 5 1/2" length through my Vagabond with PTI Edger #3 die, HERE.  This is my 2nd favorite edger, #1 is my favorite.  I also ran a 5 3/8x 2 red card stock & American Crafts Celebration paper through the same edger.  I lined them up with the spaces I liked and adhered them to the card front.  I used red 100% wool felt and my My Favorite Things LARGE ROLLED ROSE Die-Namics die, HERE , I used the medium/small one as well.  PTI Turning a New Leaf was used to cut green leaf sprigs.  Red dyed Hug Snug seam binding tied at the side fold finishes the card.

Blue Flowers!

These cards do NOT make me blue!  I LOVE them.  They are based on a card design by Dawn McVey.  Her card is at the end of THIS post.  Be sure and scroll down.  Pretty card, huh?  Dawn made hers for the release of THIS die, Bloom Builders #3.  I loved the card, so I made mine with what I had.  I just had gotten Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge so I used it.  I cut a series of 12 flowers from 3"-1".  I stacked them together and sewed them with button twine and a button.  A PTI Doily Details white doily, green, inked cardstock cut with Sending You leaves and a blue Love Lives Here butterfly.  PTI Double Ended Banner in white was layered over a blue snip of Medium Scallop border.  The sentiment was stamped on the banner.  The card base is 4 1/4x5 1/2 white cardstock.  It is a side fold card.  The blue panel is 4x 4 3/8.  The first card has a larger flower and I like it better but I think the layout of this card is stunning!
Thank you Dawn!  You are such a great inspiration.  I have a couple of more cards I copied off of her blog I will be posting, next.
