MAKE IT MONDAY #249: MAKE IT WITH MONEY

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a money gift as part of the card design.

Another fun Papertrey Ink challenge.

Lexi is the queen of folded, container type projects.

One of my favorite challenges, ever was her Trapper Keeper from Stamp-A-Faire 2014

These were so much fun!!!

So, I decided to make an wallet.

I have a college graduation party to attend next weekend.

The Sentiments and mortar board are from For the Graduate

I didn't stitch mine. I would have had to have dusted my machine off...literally!!!

Now I am not really this cheap.

I went into my sons room to see if he had any paper money. 

He did!!!

But just a $5.

Did anyone have trouble editing their money?

I took several other shots that showed the money more closely.

I got a warning,.. I think for counterfeiters???

No. Can. Do!

The "credit card" sentiment is from Lunchbox Love.

Churches

I attend a rather large...20,000+church. It is The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.

It is located in Leawood, Kansas.
One of the reasons I attend the church is the awesome programs available.
It gives us ways to serve our God!
Betsy"s Tiny town Church die along with the Tiny Town Basics gave me a great idea.
The church is building a new sanctuary. It will have whole wall of stained glass windows.
money was donated separately for this. People could buy a section in honor of someone.
My friend bought a section to honor my husband Al. It is a beautiful memorial.
So I decided to sell cards that I made stained glass windows in the church.

I adhered acetate to the bakc of the church and colored them with Sharpies.

I made a lot of colors.

 

I also made church favor boxes.

A tray of them...

I thoughtfully added my replica of the 2015 Kansas City Royals World Series trophy...

just in case you wanted to share in its glory!!!

MAKE IT MONDAY #248: INK BLENDING THROUGH DIE CUT MASKS

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and ink blending with a die cut mask.

I really loved this technique! I liked it a lot.

I am not the best ink blender. I get too impatient, and that light hand thing...ummmm, not so much!

This was quick and pretty easy.

I cut my masks out of acetate. It worked really well.

I chose several of the star dies I have. Seeing Stars and the star from tipped Tops.

My color palette was a standard one for me... 

Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold.

Like all of us, I am always looking for masculine cards.

I think this fits the bill!

I added some Summer Sunrise Die cuts on top of the ink blended images.

We can't have a flat card, now can we...

MAKE IT MONDAY #247: WATERCOLORED CARD SETS

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a watercolored card set.

I had so much fun with this challenge.

I do not have any of the printed water color papers, so I made my own!

Vintage Linen is my all time favorite floral.

I LOVE it! Dawn did an amazing job with it.

I took the medium and small outline images. I stamped the medium one on watercolor paper, masked it off and stamped the 2 smaller images on each side.

There was no room for the leaves. It took a lot of experimenting but I finally settled on Harvest Berries leaves. 

Here is my set of four.

I used the flourish stamp from the Stamp-a-faire 1920's set.

the Sending is from the anniversary set Painted Petals.

I used Rainstones on this one.

Grateful is from Enclosed Leaf.

I had a lot of fun.

APRIL 2016 BLOG HOP

At first glance it may seem like this beautiful artwork would inspire a geometric project of sorts. Dig deeper! Look at the way the different intensities of the colors look when layered together. Experiment with layering stencils, stamps or even vellum die-cuts in a similar way. Get inspired by the unique color scheme and the earthiness of it. Use the design as a jumping point for your layout and create your own sketch from it. Enjoy your process and explore outside your comfort zone!

So, I forgot to make mt Blog Hop card! Totally forgot until late last night!

So as I was looking at the post on Nicole's blog I saw that Diana K called one of her cards, which is AWESOME by-the-way, OBVIOUS...

Well, here is OBVIOUS-er!!!

I always struggle with being literal. I cannot help it.

Could this be more literal? More ...obvious-er?

Even to the point of not adding a sentiment.

I found some red and Fine Linen colored vellum in my stash.

I just used a series of circle punches.

I didn't even pop anything up. That is a true testament of my sticking to the inspiration. I pop EVERYTHING up!

MAKE IT MONDAY #246: FAUX BRUSH LETTERING

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and faux brush lettering.

How GORGEOUS is this card of Amy's?

The one she did for the release was equally gorgeous.

How hard can it be to duplicate...HARD!!!

I really struggled. I made multiple images. I tried every image I had that had that wide brushstroke look. I didn't find very many.

Most of the time it didn't look like I did anything. So if I went back, I totally messed it up.

I decided on the Wish from Good Times.

You can tell I "brushed" over the word. It is not as dramatic as Amy's but I LOVE the idea of it.

Do you think someone will think I free-hand drew that?

No, probably not....

I decided on 2 1/2 rows of dots from the long dot stamp.

I messed that up, so I went back in with the single dot stamp and fixed it as best I could.

I LOVE Amy's technique. It is cool to know if you have lettering like that, you can alter it and make it way cooler!

CREATE ALONG WITH US: APRIL 2016

I LOVE this card Dawn made, so much.

Here is my take...

I used  random gold paper in my stash to make the frame. The flower I found that worked well was from Spring Woods. I have used those branches so much. I don't think I have put them away.

I also like the largest image from Phrases & Praises.

It almost fills the frame. I LOVE that!

I will be making a few more of this one.
