More Pretty Paper Cards

These 5x7 white card stock base cards both feature 6x6 paper pads from Pat! The paper is so pretty, so I didn't want to cover it up, Since it is 6" and my card is 7" they have a contrasting strip along the bottom. The first one is a color that matches. The bottom one is the reverse side of the piece. Again, my obsession with Filigree Border Die. Can I tell you ONE of the reasons I love it so much? It is because when you use it horizontally, the scallops are spaced so you don't have to cut in the middle of them. I LOVE the Victorian Lace one, but it tends not to be spaced horizontally very well, just vertically. My obsession with seams is carried into having things cut in half and raw edges exposed! Just on of my foibles! The top one uses the large oval Limitless Layers, birthday Bash stamp and a vellum, stacked butterfly. The second one uses a Doily Detail, Movers and Shakers Stamp and a stacked butterfly. I LOVE them, both!

A couple of more Thank Yous

The top card is from a My Mind Eye 6x6 pad, * Thanks Pat!*, is 4 1/4x5 1/2" white card stock base. I used PTI Spiral Notebook page. I used it Thanks to a reminder on Dawn McVeys blog a couple of weeks ago! It was stamped with the Order Ticket stamp, wrapped in Dark Chocolate bakers twine and adhered to the card with pop dots. Fillable Frames #11 Die and stamp was inked in Sweet Blush. The Thanks! is Hero Arts. The little chip board flower is from my stash. The second card has a more masculine feel. The paper is also from MME. I used It's Official Stamp ruler inked in Dark Chocolate on Kraft card stock and embossed it with a wood grain plate. A Half & Half die cut Dark Chocolate card stock and was layered with  Fillable Frames #11. The same Hero Arts Thanks! A vintage cancelled stamp from my Mother, Donna finishes the card. Thanks Mother!
These are simple cards as well.

More Simple Thank You Notes

2 more simple Thank You notes I made. The paper comes from the DCWV stack and are 4 1/4x5 1/2 white card stock base. The top one uses the Wine Bottle Tag with the hanger part trimmed off (actually I didn't even cut it, I just butted the paper up against the score line) and Tag Sale #5 and trimmed off the top of it, too. The trim at the top is from the Banner Borders Die. I really don't use that enough. I cut all 5 from the die and used a different one on 5 of the 6 cards I made ~ fun! The stamp is a Hero Arts and the little resin Lady Bug is from my stash. The blue card uses Half & Half die that was stamped with VersaMark. Fillable Frames #4 Die and stamp were used for the sentiment ~ not sure where that came from. Another little resin ditty from my stash!
SUPER SIMPLE! I made 6 of each.

Thank You card

Pam Wilson of  Chicks of a Feather  HERE was talking about sometimes letting patterned paper do the work for you when making cards. I agree wholeheartedly! We spend a lot of money on that paper so let it be the star.  I was looking to make some quick and easy, mass-produced thank you notes and I came up with this layout. The background is from a DCWV stack. The 4 1/4x5 1/2" white card stock base has a 4x5 1/4" panel. the paper was 12x12 so I can get 6 cards from that sheet. The tag is PTI Tag Sale #6. I love that one, it is so different. I used a strip of Target Washi tape on the top and Dawn McVey's Signature Greetings. A rhinestone in the tag hole and a little heart from my stash. It looked a little plain to me so.... it will either be Turning a New Leaf or Love Lives Here Butterfly! The Leaf sprig won out! The tag is mounted on pop dots.

Make It Monday #73: Stamping on Patterned Paper

Don't you LOVE Make It Monday, even if you don't participate? I don't always participate and I don't always want to use the technique, but Oh my word, there are a LOT of ideas out there to make fresh new cards. I LOVE that!
I do love this technique. I must say I am not sure I have ever stamped on patterned paper, before but I will sure be doing it more.
Blooming Button Bits Stamp set was one of the first ones I bought. It was because, of course, I saw Dawn McVey use it. I don't use it very often and I should. It is a VERY pretty set. It is just when we have all of the dies and Rosie Posie, well.... I took a piece of Distressed Dots Fine Linen (Have I told you how much I LOVE Fine Linen?? Sooooo pretty!), a 4x5 1/4" piece for a 4 1/4x5 1/2" white card stock base. I stamped the panel with Ripe Avocado ink. I found 3 buttons I liked and threaded them through the back (I liked it better). The ribbon is Fine Linen Saddle Stitch (Have I told you how much I LOVE Fine Linen?? Sooooo pretty!) ~ Sorry! The stamp is from the Thank You freebie at the Holidays. It is PERFECT for this technique, it is stamped in True Black.
I am going to make a set of these cards! I do wish I had that stamp Ashley used, though!

Roses and Butterflies

I LOVE pink and brown together. This isn't really pink but rather more of a salmon color but still.... pretty with brown, don't 'ya think?  This is another paper from the 6x6's from my sister Pat! The card is 5x7. The bottom piece is from the reverse side I cut off to make it just under 5". I used Filigree border to cut the brown trim, to cover the seam, right?! I used Mat Stack 3 and Layerz, MFT Rolled Roses die and Tagged Sentiments stamped in Melon Berry. My usual 3 butterfly stack and pearls! Don't you love pink (or salmon) and brown together, too?

Sweet card

This card is where my obsession for the Filigree Border Die started. This card is 5x7 white card stock. The patterned paper is from a My Minds Eye pattern pack for my sister. I used both sizes of the Limitless Layers round dies. The stamped sentiment is from Dawn McVeys Tagged Sentiments in Dark Chocolate ink. 3 butterflies in cream and Dark Chocolate and the filigree border was used to cut Dark Chocolate card stock. I colored 3 clear gems with a brown sharpie to add to the white space at the bottom.
