Make It Monday #71: Bordered Sentiments ~ Day 2

I told you yesterday I could not believe how much I enjoyed this technique! So, I made another card. I used the same ink colors as yesterday because I was lazy and I like them! This stamping was done with Mat Stack 5 Collection Stamp Set. I really like the images in this set but I have to tell you I think the Rosie Posie card is prettier ~ just sayin! I had another fun find. I had a piece of card stock to use as a mat for the panel I had used to cut Victorian Lace Border Die. The piece was big enough to just trim off the "points" I laid the panel on it to see where to cut and I LOVED it! So, I just trimmed it down to the right size! AND... I had the negative from the other side of that cut, so I used it too! 2 FREE CUTS! OH Happy Day! Don't you love it when that happens! The sentiment is not PTI because when I finished stamping I was not sure I was going to post it, but after all of my cool discoveries, I had to. I have told you before I like to just use PTI on a MIM or Blog Hop!
Cool. huh???

Make It Monday #71: Bordered Sentiments

I CANNOT believe I was able to get a Make It Monday card done on Monday!!!!! It is a first for me! WooHoo! And... the funny thing is when I first saw the video I thought well, that isn't a big deal. Boy was I WRONG! I LOVED this technique. First of all, you just cannot go wrong with Rosie Posie. I was looking to step out of my comfort a little on color choices, so this is what I did. Winter Wisteria, Lemon Tart, Spring Moss & Berry Sorbet. I LOVE it. I had so much fun with the stamp placement. The sentiment is from Movers and Shakers. The left side needed something so I used Filigree Border Die to cut Lemon Tart card stock. Do you get on kicks? I do and right now the Filigree Border is my kick De jour! I matted my panel on Winter Wisteria card stock.
I am in love! A new technique!

Re-purposed Cards

I have told you before, I am CHEAP! Well, not really cheap but I am thrifty. I hate to waste things. Week before last I was in Fredonia teaching a card class to my Fredonia Card Girls. *HI Girls!* Both my Sister Pat & her friend (and mine, too) Kathie, sent me Thank you notes. It was very unnecessary, but nice. They are both excellent card makers and I couldn't throw the cards away.... so I made new cards with them.
Kathie's card is the first one. She used the butterfly corner embossing folder by Darice.  The butterflies are Martha Stewart punches and the large white one is an EK punch. It is a REALLY pretty card. It was note card sized so I mounted the card front on a piece of rust colored card stock and then to a 5x7 white card. I love the swirls of the background and the butterflies are all so pretty!
Pats card is the second one, an equally stunning card! It uses strips of Jillibean Soup Watermelon 6x6 pad. The Thanks is a Cricut cut.  I didn't have to do anything to her card ~ just mount it on a 5x7 white card. I really love the card, especially the 2 red strips. You have seen cards here before from that piece.
So, be cheap like me and re-use cards others send to you! You will end up with pretty cards you can use for yourself! When I send one of my cards, I never write in it. I always put my writing on a piece of paper, usually a sheet of my personalized note paper, and leave the card for the recipient to use! If I can, I include an envelope. Most people don't have extra envelopes lying around, like we do ;)

Make It Monday #70: Puffed Fabric Accents

I finally got my Make It Monday card done! First I couldn't find any fun foam ~ who knows where it is in my MESSY closet! Then, I thought I had some fabric, but.... So, I used felt! Not my first choice, but it worked. I used a 4 1/4x5 1/2 white card stock base. The patterned paper is from Holiday Cheer Patterned Paper. It is NOT Christmasy to me, at all! I used PTI Mat Stack 5, Layerz to cut my Scarlet Jewel card stock. Signature Series Butterfly die was used to cut the window. I put felt on the back. Erin used score tape to attach her piece. I used my trusty Scotch Quick Dry liquid adhesive. I was a bit messy but it worked really well. I used the Simple Circles Border Die to cut Raspberry Fizz card stock. I punched some Soft Stone circles to put inside the die cut. I stamped Framed Out #4 Mini Stamp in Scarlet Jewel ink. 3 Raspberry Fizz buttons and a couple of butterflies finish it off.
All in all I am happy but I need to get some fabric & try it again.

Fathers Day Cards

This is a quick post of several of the Fathers Day cards I made to sell. I got kind of a late start on making them. I was out of town in Fredonia, teaching a class for my Fredonia Card Girls! *Hi Girls!* I had a lot of fun and I hope you did too!
The pictures are terrible. I forgot to take them yesterday. I grabbed my camera on the way out the door to Curves where I sell my cards. I took some quick shots on the counter there and did not get them lined up very well.
All the cards are 5x7 white card stock. The top 2 cards are a Wood grain paper from A My Minds Eye pad.  Tag Sale die #5 on the first card & #4 on the second. The top card uses the Chevron Stripes die. The second uses some of the Tim Holtz Curiosities stamps. The bottom cards have a background stamped with Chevron Stripes stamp in Tim Holtz Distress ink, Antique Linen. There is a variety of tags, miniature playing cards, Chevron die cuts and the Super Star border die. Fun stuff for Dads!

Challenge Blog Design Team Call!

Challenge Blog Design Team Call!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

I saw that Simon Says Stamp was looking for a Challenge Blog Design Team member. I have belonged to their Monthly Card Kit since the beginning. I have gotten some GREAT supplies but had not really used any of them since I was busy making BOY scrapbooks for Colin and his friends for Graduation. So, here was a great excuse to get those supplies out and use some of them. I have put each month in the same 12x12 organizer envelope so theses cards might be a mixture of all of the kits. I think most of them are from April . One of the COOLEST things has been the 2 stamp sets designed by Kristina Werner. They are VERY usable. Also a SECOND use of the kits Red Polka Dot Washi tape! These 3 cards are from 2 6x6 sheets of paper from a card pack in the kit. The top card uses an element I stamped on a 2 1/2" circle. I stamped and cut out  the heart, punched a hole at the top to tie on the black bakers twine included in the kit. The band across the middle is from a double ended banner stamp from the kit. The second card uses 2 die cuts, the top one was stamped with love from the stamps. The bottom card I LOVE. The acetate balloon is from the kit as was the hat pin and the stamp. The kits are $25 delivered if you join monthly. You get a LOT of supplies. Last month kit has 2 stamp sets!

Make It Monday #68: Pocket Cards ~ 3

This was my first attempt at the pocket card. I wasn't going to post it but I had cards for the previous post, so I thought.... what the heck!
I am not going to go into detail on it except to say: I use the outline flower in Pretty Peonies in Pure Poppy and New Leaf. The Chevron die is also Pure Poppy. I used edger #1 on the card and the top of the pocket. I like the first 2 I posted a lot better, but...
