What an honor to get to post a card in Dawns honor!

We all love Dawn and are so GRATEFUL she is improving everyday.

One of my favorite stamp sets from Dawn is Vintage lines.

The only thing I like better than the stamps is the gorgeous paper.

Nichole's Pen & Ink sentiment seemed perfect as all of us have prayed a lot for Dawn over the years!

I add the little "stamens" to 3 flowers and that is all it needs!

A card full of color for our full of color girl!

I finally posted a card!!! Its been a while.

I had a HUGE project I was working on and I have had a virus. I coughed for almost 7 weeks!!!

I wasn't sick but the cough was debilitating...

I needed to come up with a design for Thanksgiving cards for my Card party open house so Dawns card was a great inspiration. 

The paper is old PTI. August Psalms and the acorns are from Give Thanks.

I used my cell phone for this picture...didn't turn out very well...

I really need get well cards so my image is a bit larger than the ones Lexi used but it is my favorite Get Well image, so I used it!

MAKE IT MONDAY #294: MONOCHROME COLOR POP

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and monochrome with a color pop.

Fun technique...

I LOVE this Mix and Mat: Pretty Brackets. It is so easy to cut it out and gives a lot of color and dimension.

I used Pinfeather ink to stencil my background with the Woodgrain Stencil.

All 3 pieces of the Mix and Mat were used with pinfeather card stock.

My color pop was White! It worked for me.

I am hoping this will be a masculine birthday card.

Brandon's birthday is the 18th.

MAKE IT MONDAY #293: COLOR SLIDER CARDS

-Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and a color slider card.

My oh my!!! What a challenging challenge!

I won't even tell you how long this one took!!!

I wanted an image I didn't have to color...and I had to do it twice because the first one was just too ugly...

I do not have Staz On ink, YIKES!!!
So the one I'm posting uses vellum. I just could not get away with the smearing with regular ink.

I LOVE the technique but you apparently HAVE to use Staz On...

So...here it is...

Not my best work...my image is very hard to see...

Also the line image is a bit too dark so it overshadowed the colored image...
In retrospect I could have used a purple ink on the vellum. I tried using a colored ink on the original acetate. EPIC fail. I got so frustrated, I just let it be!

Probably should have kept this one to myself... :(

MAKE IT MONDAY #292: COLOR BLOCKING THREE WAYS

WE GOT A PUPPY!!!

Well, technically Brandon got a puppy...but he is still at my house!!!

Meet Cooper...

He is a 9 week old Chocolate Lab...SO CUTE!!!

We are completely smitten!!!

Oh, I did make a card...

I enjoyed this technique...QUICK and easy.

Thought I would make this one masculine...

Ok, gotta run and see my grand-puppy...PUPPY BREATH!!!

He will get big soon, so we have to enjoy him fast.

JULY 2017 BLOG HOP

YIKES!!!

Where did July go??? How did it get to be the 25th???

To say the least...I forgot today was Blog Hop day... :(

So after meeting a lady from Florida who heard about my card mission and wanted to buy some cards, I quickly went to make one for the hop!!!

Why do you notice things about your cards when you photograph them you don't see before...?

My buds kinda look like pink radishes when they are upside down...

I like radishes, tho!

Anyway, a broken record...it's been another busy week!

Does anyone not have a busy week???

MAKE IT MONDAY #291: EMBOSS RESIST SHADOW SENTIMENTS

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and an emboss resist shadow sentiment.

I chose to make a tag. It made the inking go a lot faster!!!

I did have a bit of glare on the picture of the top card...Looks like the stamping is washed out...it's the the shiny embossing.

I used Initial Sentiments: Birthday. I bought it when it was released but just hadn't used it...

I really love the circle HB but thought it might get smeared...

It is a fun technique. I wanted to try Ashley's idea of using solid paper but didn't take the time.

Colin is helping me clean out cabinets and closets. Gotta make hay while the sun shines...

He will be a working man soon... :(

Create Along With Us: July 2017

Create a project utilizing inspiration you've seen during release week. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

I really love this card of Nichole's. 

I obviously do not have any mountain dies...

so, I improvised!

I used 2 of Dawns Edger dies, #3 and #4

I enjoyed inking the night sky. I loved it from last years Stamp-a-Faire.

My mountains came out alright. But it needs something else and can't figure out what...

Anyway, I need those mountains...

I used my Stamp-a-Faire gold gilding paint.

Worked like a charm...great tip!

MAKE IT MONDAY #290: COMBINING STENCILING AND MASKING

Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and combine stenciling and masking.

Oh. My. Goodness!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Betsy's GORGEOUS card!!!!!

So...I nearly copied it verbatim!

I HAD to! Her's is so pretty.

I do not have Betsy's Herb Garden set, but I do have Beautiful Berries. But you already

know that 'cause I've used it on nearly every challenge since I got it.

I love it that much!

I am pretty good at improvising...

I used Mix & Mat: Pretty Brackets. The dashed frame gave me a way to cut out the inside

giving me a stencil. It is a wavy line mimicking Betsy's stencil.

It is obviously not as awesome as Betsy's stencil but it is a pretty good representation.

I should have inked my background a bit more...I was trying to not get too 

aggressive so it is a bit light.

I am in love!!! I LOVE this card and the technique was fun.

I hope my stencil hold up to make a few more cards...I definitely

want to make few more!

It's Betsy's fault I used Beautiful Berries, again!

Not mine...I'm innocent!!!

MAKE IT MONDAY #289: BUILDING WREATHS WITH SMALL IMAGES

In my desire never to have a flat card, I created a monster for myself!

I spent WAY too much time with this card. I could not...let well enough alone...

WAY to much time!!! and...it got a bit wonkey...

 I used Rustic Wreath and several flowers...

But on the bright side...it's Thursday...the earliest I have posted a card all summer!!!

JUNE 2017 BLOG HOP

Such a pretty picture. I love colored glass and these are such calm, soothing colors...kind of a tropical feel...

I don't have any jar stamps so when I need the "feel" of one...I fake it!

I just sponged Sweet Blush and Ocean tides ink on my panel.

I got Grans Garden last month but had yet to ink it up. I was DETERMINED to use

 it and am happy with the results. The buds mimicked the flowers pretty well for me.

I also cannot stop using Pen & Ink. I love the handwritten look...

Lexi always has the such fun challenges! This one was no exception.

Very cool...I have never looked a Pantone Pinterest page...

I had Sweet Blush out for the Blog Hop and I had another BUSY week. My brother and nephew were in town, so no free time...so I just used the scraps from my Blog Hop card.

I apologize for the non-stop use of Beautiful Berries, but they are so...BEAUTIFUL!!!

So, I'm not really sorry...
